One Life for another

Okay, so Broken Heart was the first horse in my HARPG and he means the world to me. And same for Gina. But he grew so old...
also, why did no one ever tell me that uniforms are way easier to draw than any other clothing stuff? Like wtf?! So, do not ask me where Gina got that jacket from...

Fall was almost over. The days were foggy and the sky was covered in clouds. Gina stayed indoors with her little son. She did not want him to catch a cold. 
But hearing that her beloved stallion had health problems made her feel guilty. Bre hadn't even met Baldur yet. She knew he'd love the little boy. 
And so, she put Baldur in a soft, warm blanket and walked over to the boxes. When Broken Heart heard his rider coming down he got on his feet and looked over the wall. 
"Hello, my sweet boy.", she greeted her stallion. "I want you to meet someone. May I introduce to you my son: Baldur." Carefully the chestnut sniffed and blew a bit of air
into the baby's face. Baldur chuckled and looked curiously at the horse. Gina looked down at her child happily. The two seemed to have become friends.  Too bad that
Bre was so old already. His chestnut was slowly turning roan with all the grey hair he grew. The mother sighed.
Broken Heart softly poked Gina in the shoulder, then turned around and laid down again.
It was time for him to go. She knew that.
He had just said goodbye.
Her eyes filled with tears.
"Goodbye, my friend."
A silent snorting was his answer.
Then he slept forever.
