Shrine by demonicrose
Lucretia Wolfe, former Triarch and current member of the United Realms council, stood before the doors that would lead out to the balcony of her Lhaindor manor. Her desk was littered with letters and scrolls. Some painstakingly penned warned of the unrest in the streets, the charlatans and their obsession with feathers. Others more hastily sent, barely legible with the salt of seawater, cried for help with storms raging off the coasts. A terse letter from her Admiral was barely more than a list of the ships her navy had lost.

Thurond was in TROUBLE. The Realms were in TROUBLE.

There is only one being Lucretia could turn to for help. She faced a problem finding this elusive helper. Straightening her back, the queen threw the doors open and marched out to address the masses who had responded to her demand for aid. Raised voice calm she explained, "People of the Realms, our land is in grave danger. I have called upon you for aid. We must find Suicune, and quickly."

---

After two days of traveling, you stand upon the bank of a river in Thurond. The northern wind's bite tears through even your warmest cloak. Before you, a magnificent stone Suicune towers high bedecked with bells that ring softly as the wind whipped past. The River Map clutched in your hand labeled this stretch of the river as the North Wind's Aria.

Queen Wolfe was very clear, to find Suicune one needed to visit the legend's shrines. North Wind's Aria, the Stark Rapids, and Lady's Tears, were the most important. But Snowmelt, King's Pass, and Seer's Delta were also along the trail, and Suicune would look favorably upon those who visited them all. That was the goal, to attract the legendary's attention. Queen Wolfe said that Suicune would be able to answer the questions of the strange storm and feathers that took over the Realms.

Focusing your attention on the Ranger in front of you, you listen as she explains an older bell has been taken from the Shrine. Locals knew better than the remove the offerings to the River God, so perhaps it was Suicune herself that had taken it. If you can find the bell, perhaps you'll find Suicune as well?

The detour to the Snowmelt is closed. A large handwritten sign warns of melting floods despite being the coldest time of the year. You are about to pass on when you hear a whining sound. Just past the treeline you see a mother sawsbuckpawing at the end of the river. The river is usually frozen over by this time but you see spiraling cracks reaching across the icy surface. In the middle of the river, a herd of deerling and sawsbuck are trapped by broken ice on every side. Across the river, a ranger is trying to help but he can't venture out on the ice without breaking it more.
