Literature Text

Increasingly I desire
Your warmth against my back
The cool of your palm in mine
The fill in where I lack
Steadily more I see
Just what you do to me
I reach for you, my dear,
With something akin to need –

There are things I haven’t longed for ‘til now:
Your nose buried in my hair,
Gentle kisses above my eyes,
Your breath against my cheek,
And how do I surmise –

With a smile you lick my nose,
And it’s just so close to mine,
You’re silly, I suppose,
But it’s something I don’t mind.

I chase that laugh of yours –
When I’m near, I feel its warmth –
I trip without grace,
And land in a daze,
But you’re here, and I want more.
I actually meant to post this a month ago, but, surprise, surprise, my laptop stopped working! Oh well, it's here now, so....yeah.
This is perhaps my first time experimenting with romantic poetry. While not my favorite genre, overall, I'm fairly pleased with the outcome.
