About my new username

I’ve been thinking about changing my username for a while now, and now I have this 1-month premium membership, I thought, this is my chance!

I once came up with Snashyle because I liked how the shapes of the letters came together, but the problem with it was always the pronunciation. No one knows how to say it and I even don’t really know. And it also doesn’t have a real meaning to me, actually, it’s just that I’ve used it for years and years now on all kinds of different platforms, but it doesn’t really connect to me. I just thought it looked cool. But even after these seven years on dA I never really felt like one of the cool kids, haha. 

So what’s it then?

One of the options I’ve been thinking about is Sufkous. It’s a sort of insult in Dutch, meaning as much as muddlehead in English. Literary it’s ‘dull-stocking’ Why I’m opting this is because my sister and I always call out each other this. It is our own personal little joke. And I like the silliness that comes with it, it says to me, don’t take life too serious, and that’s something I really try to do.

But I don’t know, it might be too silly to really fit me, and people might not take me serious. In real life I’m quite serious all the time. I also rather like something closer to my real name, Saskia. Not SaskiaArt, that's lame. And I never really liked my real name, haha. 

Then I came up with Saskle. I think it was shortly after I heard that Linkle was confirmed for Hyrule Warriors. There had to be some connection to Zelda one way or another, otherwise it wouldn't be me. XD

I like the sound of Saskle, it's kind of small and cute, although I don’t really know if that fits the things I create. Or, better said: I WANT to create. There are quite some people who’ve said that I have a cute drawing style or something, but I don’t necessarily want to be cute. :\

I finally went with Saskle, because it sounds and looks nice, but it also has the best relation to my real name, Saskia de Klerk. There isn't any better choice, is there? And it's short and easy to remember.

As Tumblr username it's still available! On Twitter and Instagram it's already in use. Not that I want to use Tumblr or Twitter or Instagram, but who knows? For now dA is my main hub and Saskle is the name!
