Something More: Chapter 6

Cael had drilled her pretty hard about letting Bruno hold her hand on the way back to Venus. He was furious about it, even though she reassured him constantly that he was only helping her. Cael didn't like the fact that Lydia never went to watch him play sports and instead "disappeared" the moment they all were able to go do whatever while their parents talked. He also didn't like that during the time she "disappeared" so did Bruno.

She did admit to hanging out with him a little, but she reassured him they wouldn't do much of anything but read books. Of course that was a lie, but she couldn't tell him the truth. Cael still wasn't too happy.

When she finally got home she spent the rest of the time extensively researching Cornbury and the house Bruno picked out. She also researched jobs she could have NC-56 do for her to pay for the house as well as researched how to enroll herself into their high school, since in Earth years she's around 16.

Also, so NC-56 would be able to perform these jobs and pass as a human, Lydia made some modifications to NC-56, installing some of her battle ball transformation technology into the robot.

For a week Lydia stayed up the entire night too working on research and preparations. Everything HAD to be perfect if she were to successfully leave Venus.

One night she ended up passing out on NC-56 while working on them.

NC-56 gently patted Lydia's hair as she slept. "Have a good sleep master Lydia" they whispered.
Soon it was morning and her mother burst into her room to wake her up. She was livid to find Lydia asleep on the floor on top of her robot who had been silently lying there the entire time to not wake her up.

"WHAT THE HELL LIDYNAEA?!? WERE YOU WORKING ON YOUR ROBOT ALL NIGHT?" she boomed.

Lydia jumped awake and rolled off of NC-56.  "Uh, maybe?" Lydia rubbed her eyes.

"THIS IS RIDICULOUS LYDIA WE'RE RUNNING LOW ON EYE DROPS!" her mother scolded her as she dragged her off the floor and brought her into the bathroom to get ready.

Lydia thought she was to go to Mars again, but instead the Martians were actually coming to Venus. Cael arrived with the bovinyrd drawn carriage to pick up Lydia. She got into the carriage and they headed to the palace. Cael would usually talk to her about sports, but this time he was silent. He still seemed angry from their date yesterday. Lydia didn't mind, though. She'd rather have silence than have to listen to another stupid thing about sports again.

They were almost to the palace when Cael spoke up.

"Aren't you going to ask why I wasn't talking to you?" he asked.

"You're still mad about yesterday, I already know." she told him. "I told you nothing was meant by it and nothing happened between the Martian prince and I. What else do you want me to say?"

Cael grunted and crossed his arms.

When they arrived at the palace, the Martians had just arrived too. The King, The Queen, Princess Skarlazya, and Prince Burunarkus exited their ship and proceeded into the palace. They headed into the Venusian conference room this time. After the kings and queens were seated, they dismissed the teens again. However, this time it was different.

Cael went up to Skarlazya, Bruno, and Lydia. "I want ALL of you to watch me play sports."

All of them collectively groaned.

"We don't want to watch sports!" Bruno hissed.

"Too bad! You are a guest on my home planet so you have to do as I say!" Cael puffed out his chest in an effort to intimidate them. "If you don't do it I'll tell my mom and dad and they'll crush your peace treaty!"

"Fine!" Skarlazya sighed. "It's only proper manners as a guest on another planet. We'll watch your sports."

Cael fist pumped before running off to go play sports. The rest of them followed.

Lydia, Bruno, and Skarlazya were the only ones sitting in the bleachers as Cael played with his friends. The Martian Princess sighed and rested her hand on her cheek, drifting off to sleep as she watched.

"Ugh this sucks!"  Bruno hissed. "He looks like a Martian ape beast out there!"

"Tell me about it" Lydia sighed. "I'm being forced to marry that ape beast."

"Not for long" Bruno reminded her.

Cael ran up to the bleachers during a break in the game. "BURUNARKUS!" he shouted as he pointed at Bruno.

"WHAT?" Bruno shouted back.

"YOU'RE SITTING TOO CLOSE TO LYDIA! SCOOT!" he ordered.

Bruno let out a loud, long, frustrated sigh as he scooted away from Lydia by a half an inch. "BETTER?"

"FURTHER! Cael shouted

Bruno scooted another half an inch.

"MORE!" Cael shouted.

Bruno passive aggressively moved a fourth of an inch, giving the Venusian prince a smug grin.

"I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU DON'T FUCKING MOVE..."

Bruno sighed loudly and dramatically as he got up and sat back down a foot away from Lydia.

Cael made an "OK" hand gesture before wiping some sweat off his forehead with a towel. Little did anyone notice, the towel had virus spores on it. After Cael wiped his face, he ran back to the field.

Bruno frowned. "Now I think he's onto us. Great! We can't even sit next to each other!"

"I might be able to fix this" she told him before getting out her pocket communicator and dialing something on it.

That dial alerted NC-56 to her location. NC-56 immediately showed up and stood in front of her attentively. "Yes Master Lydia, what may I help you with?"

"I need you to project holograms of Bruno and I on these exact spots on the bleachers so we can go do something else and not watch sports" Lydia told them.

"Coming right up!" NC-56 said dutifully as they made the projections and his underneathe the bleachers so they wouldnt be seen.

After NC-56 did that, Lydia and Bruno carefully slid themselves under the bleachers as well so they could make their escape. Once they did, they went back to the palace.

"Where should we go?" Bruno asked.

"Cael has a game room that's pretty cool. Wanna play some video games?" she asked him.

Bruno grinned at her. "Are we gonna do what we did last time?"

"We'd have to be in stealth mode but sure!" she giggled.

They went into the game room and started playing games. After each round they would kiss each other. That went on for a while until they got carried away and had a full blown make out session right on Cael's favorite bean bag chair.

Meanwhile on the sports field, Cael came up to the bleachers again and looked over at Bruno and Lydia holograms.
"HEY BURUNARKUS! I BET YOU CAN'T EVEN LIFT!" Cael taunted.

Bruno didn't respond back, because he was a hologram and not the actual Bruno of course.

"HEY! DID YOU HEAR ME! YOU CAN'T EVEN LIFT!" Cael taunted again.

Still nothing.

"DO YOU HEAR ME TALKING TO YOU PUNK?!?" Cael pounded his chest angrily.

This time Skarlazya woke up and glared at Cael.

"Cool it, will you?" she hissed.

"YOUR BROTHER IS IGNORING ME!" he whined.

Skarlazya looked over at the Bruno and Lydia holograms. "Mmm..." she was about to point out that they were holograms, but decided against it out of respect for Lydia. Lydia was being forced to marry a royal ape, the least she could do is let her have fun with her brother who she seemed to fancy. "Maybe he's sleeping like I was."

"HE SLEEPS WITH HIS EYES OPEN?!" Cael seemed confused.

Skarlazya shrugged.

Cael didn't seem to be content with that answer as he got a rock and readied himself to throw it at Bruno.

"WOAH HEY DON'T DO THAT!" Skarlazya protested, but it was too late.

Cael chucked the rock at the Bruno hologram. The worst it did was warp the image a little before it went back to normal. In that moment, Cael was furious.

"THAT SON OF A BITCH!" Cael screamed as he ran off to the palace.

"Oh shit!" Skarlazya exclaimed under her breath as she chased Cael to the castle. She was hoping she'd get to her brother before Cael did.

Unfortunately for Skarlazya, even after transforming into a glarmiandyr, she didn't get there in time.

Cael opened the doors to his game room to find Lydia straddling Bruno as they were just having a hot and heavy make out session. The minute the doors to the room burst open, they stopped and looked over in shock.

"Uhh...." Bruno felt his heart sink into his stomach.

"I-It's not what it looks like I swear!" Lydia lied.
