Head: Large and angular, with huge pointed ears. They always have a flute in their mouth 

Eyes: Narrow and almost always closed; It is suggested they are blind, but no one knows for sure.

Feet: Tiny and dainty, they leave no footprints or trails, even in sand or snow.

Tail: Long and poofy, their is always a trail of wispy smoke leading from the tail to the flute

General Personality: Mischievous and very friendly; they like to get into trouble. 
Disciplines: Most people use these as pets, however, they are excellent at gathering information, carrying notes, and scouting nearby areas. Since they cannot speak to anyone except their partner or someone they are bonded to, they are good at keeping secrets. As for the information gathering part, the information they gather is usually just things like 'I saw water over there'; 'there was a bird, it flew away'. They have the general intelligence of a three year old.

Abilities: A kudagitsune is tied to their bone flute, and if it is destroyed they will die. If the flute is too far from them, they will be automatically transported to it, and trapped inside the flute for 24 hours. A kudagitsune can and often does spend time inside the flute, and will happily do so while travelling with a partner. It functions as their home (a lot like a genie's lamp)

Sound: To one who they are not bonded to, their voices sound like whispers of breeze in tree leaves. To those who they are bonded with, they talk up a storm, and it is in the language of their partner. 

They do not breed. Towards the end of their life span, their tail splits into 9 parts. At the point of death, the kudagitsune will go into hiding, remove those extra tails and seal them into the cave. Their body then turns to dust. After about 9 months, those tails will open with a special bone flute inside and a baby fox.
Society/Social Mentality: They are highly social their closely bonded partners, however they can be anti-social to strangers, and will flee quickly if startled. In the wild, they tend to keep to themselves, rarely seeking the company of others of their kind.
