Jitsuris Species Info

Origin

Jitsuris are the physical manifestation of humans' longing or desire for material goods. A Jitsuri is born from the strong emotions a human has attached to a certain object or thing. Jitsuris come in three types, Desire, Hatred and Cursed. Desire Jitsuris are much more common and are born from a deep desire, love, possessiveness, or greed for a material good. Hatred Jitsuris are uncommon and are born from a deep hatred or fear of a material good. Despite the negative nature they are born from, Hatred Jitsuris are no different than Desire Jitsuris in terms of personality. Cursed Jitsuris are rare and can be identified by their halos of sigils. 

Physique

Aside from their species-specific traits, Jitsuris in general are about the same size as humans. However, they are typically more lithe and tend to have long slender limbs.

Growth

When a Jitsuri is born, it typically has one to three objects. In the case of more than one, that Jitsuri is born from the combined desires (or hatred) for those objects. Jitsuris with more objects present in their halo are thus more rare and powerful, as the Jitsuri is the manifestation of the combined desires for all those objects. The size of the halos are usually around the same and slight variations are not a result of rarity.

Food

Jitsuris do not need to eat human food and instead feed on the strong emotions humans have towards the objects they garner. For example, when desire for books decline as a result of modern technology, Jitsuris who garner books as one of their objects become weaker/health diminish. Never the less, some Jitsuris have developed making ‘food’ similar to that the humans makes, although it is more for aesthetic purposes.

Habitat

Jitsuris live in an alternate dimension from the humans. ［WIP]

Social Conventions

Jitsuris typically like to travel, thus it is rare for them to befriend one another. However, they are not hostile creatures and enjoy each others’ company, even if only temporarily. Hatred Jitsuris are sometimes feared or looked down upon, mostly due to lack of education of the nature of Hatred Jitsuris. As a result, some Hatred Jitsuris often feel more self-conscious and less confident. Jitsuris cannot procreate。
