Choose Your Lanterns Meme (Doctor Who Version)

Taken from an interesting meme idea by I've taken a selection of characters/races from the Doctor Who Universe and imagined which of the Lantern Corps from DC they'd most suit! It took some deciding but I ended up with the following (and created an original Corps)...

Red Lanterns/Rage: Davros (and the Daleks) Probably one of the most likely, since Davros is a being practically fuelled by rage and hatred since his time on Skaro and the accident which crippled him, and that has easily been translated to his creations, so giving them the power of the Red Lanterns is a pretty terrifying concept! Expect the Lantern Oath to have changed to 'EX-TER-MIN-ATE!' I should think! In any case Davros leads his Daleks in a charge against the Whoniverse, letting loose hordes of deadly lightning whilst his Daleks expend their mutated life forces for even deadlier gunstick blasts. The only negative is that much of Davros' intellect and cunning might have been removed in the process, so consumed is he by his rage against the Doctor and the Time Lords, as well as the Yellow Lanterns and Grey Lanterns.

Orange Lanterns/Avarice: Abzorbaloff This was the hardest ring bearer to pick since no one in Doctor Who really suits being so fixated with outright greed among other emotions, but then I remembered this fellow. The Abzorbaloff hails from the planet Clom, sister world of the criminal race Slitheen's home planet. With the ability to absorb beings into his body and access their skills and strengths, the villain hid on Earth in an effort to locate the Doctor and so take his Time Lord body in order to learn the secrets of time travel and so run unchecked in the universe. He failed but now armed with the solo Orange Lantern, the Abzorbaloff intends to absorb innocents at an ever increasing rate, turning a pesky nuisance into a dangerous entity.

Aye, all mine, mine, mine!
Not yours! MINE!'

Yellow Lanterns/Fear: Weeping Angels Beings who utilise fear of their abilities and threat to steal time or kill their prey, the Weeping Angels are a force as old as time itself in their universe, appearing as seemingly simple stone statues... until you look away, due to their power of quantum locking whenever they are observed. But the discovery of a working Yellow Lantern Core amid a foreboding planet's surface gave the Angels access to a new and terrible power, once they had found the means to speak the Lantern Oath without access to natural vocal chords! Now able to use the threat of fear amid yellow and darkness even more effectively, the Angels have become a plague across all of time and space, held in check only via the equally fearsome Red Lantern Daleks and Grey Lantern Cybermen, as well as the Doctor and his allies.

Green Lanterns/Willpower: Madame Vastra Madame Vastra was already a fearsome but honourable lizard woman of Victorian London, able to wield twin swords and her natural Silurian gifts as well as her equally sharp Holmesian mind. Together with her wife Jenny and the loyal Sontaran manservant Strax, these three solve crimes and defend against invasion as the Paternoster Gang. But Vastra's promise was heightened further when she was chosen to serve the Green Lantern Corps, owning to her strong willpower and intellect. Now Vastra is able to conjure swords and much more aplenty with green light equal to her natural green complexion. Willing to take life if needed puts her on a different footing to some of her allies, but the Doctor knows she is still a person he can count on in times of crisis, as well as her wider allies in the Green Lantern Corps. Vastra's homeworld might no longer belong to her people but she is nevertheless primary protector of Space Sector 2814.

Blue Lanterns/Hope: Clara Oswald Despite the loss of her mother and the tragic death of her boyfriend Danny Pink to the Master's schemes, Clara Oswin Oswald was always brought up to believe in the best of people, especially with children, whether it was as a nanny or school teacher.  Her times travelling with the Doctor in his eleventh and twelfth incarnations strengthened that, coupled with a strong sense of bravery and selfless. This made her an ideal choice for acceptance within the Blue Lantern Corps. Now one of its shining new members Clara is often seen to inspire and lead both young and old alike into believing that evil can be vanquished, though she knows never to be overly aggressive, even if she can still be a little reckless or stubborn when it calls to be. Clara is a woman who has lost much, but ultimately never lets it crush her hope for good to succeed in her universe.

Indigo Tribe/Compassion: Martha Jones

Star Sapphires/Love: River Song

White Lanterns/Life: The Doctor

Black Lanterns/Death: The Master/Missy

Grey Lanterns/Logic: Cybermen Once humanoids from a world in parallel to Earth called Mondas, the race who would become the Cybermen were caught in a terrible event which saw their planet drift away from the sun's orbit, causing vast destruction and a need to survive the increasingly hostile conditions. The people of Mondas encased themselves in protective suits whilst more and more of their humanity, including their emotions, was stripped away, until only the creed to survive and convert others at any cost remained. The Cybermen were forged. But the arrival of an array of emotional spectrums via the Lanterns was a totally alien and hostile concept to their beliefs. To defend against the dangers of emotion with pure logic sections of Cybermen aligned and were able to capture technology to study the source of these rings. Through this a new artificial power battery was forged to combat emotion, strengthening the Cybermen's ability to convert others. These new Lanterns are a new and unsettling nature for the bearers of the Lanterns Corps and may well be why the Red Lantern Daleks and Yellow Lantern Angels are preoccupied with destroying them, giving the Doctor and the more heroic Lantern Corps breathing space. Nevertheless the Cyber Creed remains the same.
