Grata Dark was poisoned by her "best friend", someone she had known since they were in diapers.
But soon after her parents(mostly her mother) forced her to become engaged to a wealthy and very handsome man. Her friend became jealous and on the day of Grata's wedding, she proposed a toast.
Instead of a glass full of wine, it was full of a sweet smelling poison.
As Grata fell to her knees, he friend smiled and drank her wine.

Years later after Grata heard Danny speaking of the Ghost King, she got more and more curious.
She flew to Pariah's castle. Slowly. Not exactly sure about it's where abouts. Hours passed and she finally found it!
She glide into the castle, there sitting on the top of the steps, where you would normally see a throne, sat a sarcophagus.
She pulled the sarcophagus open. It was very heavy and hard to open. It was quickly busted open by something inside.
"NO ONE SHALL HAVE THIS RING!!!" she heard a deep voice roar.
Grata jumped back into the air. "What? What ring?"
Pariah chased her around the castle.  "NO ONE SHALL HAVE THE RING!!!"
"I don't want your ring!!!" She flew out of the castle and turned.
Just as she turned to face him, a blast of ecto energy hit her in the stomach. She glide back a few feet folding in on herself. It almost went straight thru her. She looked up to him, still bent over a little. "I didn't want your ring." And with that, she flew off. Leaving Pariah there in awe. Wondering who she was.

After the incident, Pariah often sent his skeletal army to find her. They wreak havoc everywhere they went. Word soon got to Grata about who the skeletal army was and what they wanted. She gave herself up. Following them back to where they came from.
