If I win this guy, his name will be Green Ghost 
Very proud of this. This was my - getting back into making art for real - art 
I really hope I can get him. My goal is to have a whole bunch of different breeds here at KIT stables 
Any critique is welcomed. I could really use it, lol.
...A rush of cool night air was all his. He ran and pranced and leapt for joy. To be rid of that stall was bliss! He loved to run and jump, and the night was perfect. The big open pasture was beautiful, and the spring grass was lush.

Oh my word, your shading and general drawing is improving incredibly fast! 
An idea would be to practice backgrounds next; grass covering hooves is natural, but the grass must blend into the grass surrounding it (in this pic he looks like he and the grass is floating a bit).
Shadows would most likely not be shown under the horse but rather over it as well (depending on the light). In this case, the shadows would be covering his back.
But a huge, huge congratulations on the quality of your art!
