Once a child so young and sweet,
Playing with his flute such beautiful melodies,
To greet all those he'd meet

Wherever did you go one day?
We saw you on your way through the woods,
But you seem to have lost your way

Whatever dark fate befell you?
Some say it was the work of spirirts or woodfolk,
But the truth was that no one knew

Now our children rise from their slumbers at night,
Tranced by a tune which shows them the way,
Though we've always found them when next morning rose,
They seem to be traveling farther away each day

Oh little lost flute player,
Is this your doing? a form of retribution?
Our children have committed no wrong, yet we fear
For the night when they finally reach their destination."

Well, I don't think the poem is that bad, to be honest. I tried, man, okay? This took a while, but I had a blast experimenting with watercolors again. I think I might be starting to get the hang of it. Used some color pencils to add in the little details, touch it up a bit, and color the skin, since I still have no idea how to make skin tones.
Also, for some reason my scanner hates me, so the colors look a little different from the actual piece. Apologies for that one.
