Other: Beelz was a questionable filly from the start. An undisclosed stable requested a breeding to our stallion, WBS Global White Out to their newly retired 6 year old Flat Racer, Princesa Rápida. Princesa had a fairly successful career on the track, with a few wins here and there, but mostly finishing in the range of 2nd-5th. Not a terrible career by all means, but she was far from one of the greats. After her 5 year old career ended, her owner decided to retire her to a life at pasture bearing foals and attempting to perfect her running style through her future progeny in the years to come, in hopes of producing a better racer than she. However, they had come on hard times as Princesa was their most successful mare, and the other stock wasn't pulling in much in earnings, so finding the perfect stallion would have to wait for a few years. In the mean time, they still wanted a project foal from their star mare, so their search began. They landed upon the White Blood Stables website, and picked a stallion within their budget that sported loud color, WBS Global White Out. They thought a splash of color would bring more attention to their breeding program for the future, as all they had were solid bays, chestnuts, and blacks. The breeding was arranged, and once Princesa Rápida was in heat, she was impregnated to the WBS stallion. This was the stables first breeding, and in their current financial devastation, affording a proper vet was a struggle, but they managed to have a vet out during early pregnancy. The vet was on the verge of retirement, but kept his prices cheap because he loved to do good services for equine lovers in need. He gave Princesa a clean bill of health and notified the owner that she was carrying twins. The owner was overjoyed, but nervous for their mares health due to the horror stories they had heard from twin births in horses, and continued to watch Princesa closely during her pregnancy. She grew very large, and seemed fine most every day aside from unusual behavior every now and then, nipping at her belly or trying to kick up at it, but these antics were shrugged off as her being a nervous first time mother or simply reacting to the foals moving in her belly. However, close to her foaling time she started acting incredibly strange. She started to only stay laying down for days on end, refusing to leave her stall (let alone stand), and refusing to eat or drink. Princesa was usually a very well mannered mare, but she started acting out defensively whenever people came near, pinning her ears and snorting rapidly. She continued to bite at her sides compulsively, leaving small marks all over the side of her pelt. She started to injure her sides excessively due to the compulsive biting. Due to their stock not selling at the price they were asking, the stable had started entering some of their stock into claiming races, and by the grace of God, one was claimed. They cashed out the money from the claim, and used some of it to call the vet back. By the time he arrived, Princesa was in labor. The staff tried to make Princesa as comfortable as possible while the vet did his best to aid the mare in her foaling. He reached into her and pulled one of the out of her vaginal cavity, immediately coughing and covering his mouth and nose with his arm. What fell out was the decaying body of one of the twins. From the looks of it, it had been dead inside the mare for a while, and the smell was beyond unbearable. Decaying flesh and foul smelling green liquid poured from the placenta like a rotten egg seeping from it's shell. Shocked exclamations and scolding words flew from the stable hands owner, and vet, but there was still work to be done. The vet grabbed new gloves and reached into the mare again, fighting to get the other foal into the correct position. The foal he pulled out next did not look decayed, but lay motionless. The owner looked wearily at the filly with the strange facial marking and stood silent, simply staring at the symbol of the upside down cross with a concerned and frightened expression. Some of the stable hands muttered words about "Diablo" quietly. The vet frantically attempted to revive the foal in every which way he knew possible. He flushed the liquid from its nose with tubes and rapidly massaged over her body with a towel in attempts to get everything flowing again. When the foal finally took it's first breath, it made a terrible gasping, gargling noise. Moments later, the vet found himself short of breath and his arm started to become numb. He gripped at his chest, and the staff stood by in confusion, asking if he was okay but no answer came as his eyes bulged and he tried to speak but found himself unable. The vet died within minutes in that stall from a major heart attack, exhausted from the excited movements and situation lain before him, his body simply gave up. After dealing with the police and having to find a place to bury Princesa after her passing from the stresses of foaling and internal infection, they had no idea what to do with the foal they were left with. They had another mare named Señora Roja that was due to foal some time after Princesa was, and they hoped that by sticking the foal in with her, that she may be able to offer the little filly some milk. They put the filly out to pasture with the mare and Roja adopted the filly as if she were her own, looking after her as she learned to walk and run. Weeks went by when a huge storm rolled in and lightning struck the windmill on the ranch. The tremendous blast caused part of the windmill to crash down onto the neighboring barn, killing two horses in the process. Forced to sell all of their stock, the owner solely blamed the little filly for the stables tremendous misfortune, and begged WBS to take her off their hands. WBS reimbursed the man for the breeding fee they paid to WBS Global White Out to cover the purchase cost of Beelz, and took ownership of the little filly- as well as offering to grant the small stable a loan to help repair the damages to their stable. However, all the owner said was frantic angry screams about "antecristo" and how he wanted out of the horse racing business, and that they had to come pick up the filly as soon as possible or they would put her down. It was heard that he sold all of his horses and his land, feeling that it was cursed by the little filly. WBS hasn't heard from him since, but they have not given into the idea that Beelz is cursed, they assume it was just bad luck and all terrible coincidence. Since they've owned the filly, they've found that other than a bipolar attitude, she has absolutely no supernatural powers. However, strange occurrences that have been linked to her have occurred, including her handlers falling ill, mares miscarrying, and other horses showing fear and strange behavior when pastured with her. All superstition in Dallas's opinion.
Throughout her racing career, she had the registered name WBS The Antichrist with the call name "Beelz," however after she retired from racing her name was changed.
