Dot Bullet (Rose Red) - F2U!   The Brawl is Currently CLOSED Dot Bullet (Rose Red) - F2U!

Deadline: 11:59 pm June 30th (PST)

Welcome to the introduction of the seasonal Faction Brawl - a traditional night of fierce games and competition aimed toward deciding which faction will take a 3 month's reign as top dog, earning their entire team benefits. Those who participate will receive monthly perks, as well as the chance to earn awards:

If you have completed the requirements for either of the above rewards comment here.

How to Participate

First of all, you must choose a faction. Be careful with this choice, you only have one chance to change your mind, and only before any benefits have been utilized. (If you have bred your Tokota in either faction, you have utilized the benefits.) Once you have received confirmation from an admin that your choice has been recorded, you are free to enter.

You do not need to pre-register, just be sure to include the following information in the artist's comments of your entry:

Tokotas' imports: ///
Faction: ///
Owner(s): ///
Extra images: ///
Bonses: ///

Then, submit your entry to the Faction Brawl Gallery. If your entry is not submitted and accepted to the correct folder before the deadline, it will not be counted.

Rules

  • Literature is accepted and a minimum of 1500 words is required.
  • All entries must be fullbody (75% of Tokota showing), with a clean background and at least semi (30%+) visible handler.
  • Tracing stock photos is permitted as long as you credit the source.
  • No line-arts, templates, or re-colored images.
  • You may NOT commission an entry for a brawl. Entries must be either collaborated or your own work.
  • You may only bring up to TWO of your own Tokotas to each brawl. If you only own one Tokota, you may lease another from a faction mate (or an admin/starter Tokota, if desired). This means you can enter 2 of the same tokotas into each class.
  • The brawl will not be judged if there are less than five entries per team.
  • You must follow each class requirements.

Judging

Faction brawls are mostly judged with a random scoring (on an RNG scale of 1-50). However, there are methods of increasing your score:
  • +5 for depicting one full body(75% +)  tokota belonging to a faction mate. If you collab with a faction mate, their tokota will not count as the bonus. You must depict an extra one.
  • +5 for correct background (read class information).
  • +10 if the piece is a collaboration between you and a faction mate.
  • +10 for the depiction of a rival (opposite faction) Tokota, full body(75% +).
  • +# Traits and companion bonuses.
  • +5 for Full Body Colored Summer themed bonus image or a 1000+ word story. Must be of tokota(s) participating.
  • 1-50 effort score judged against your own gallery

Classes will have individual winners, but the faction points will be added up at the end of the competition to decide which faction had the most success. Winning a faction brawl may not determine whether or not the faction becomes dominant depending on the amount of points already held, but it will grant a significant boost.

Brawl Classes

It has long been a debate between Prestige Breeders and Pack Leaders: who has the best Tokotas? These classes are aimed to provide a middle ground between both skill sets.

Deep Diving

Prompt

With the heat of summer fully upon us, the respite offered by the deep, cool waters of the lake is a welcome distraction for everyone. The sun is setting, casting a rosy glow over the lake; torches burn brightly at the edge of the water, while tokotas and their handlers prepare themselves to dive into the lake and retrieve as many of the brightly colored plastic weights as possible. Bandannas, wet suits, flippers, and a myriad of other gear are marked in faction colors as everyone scrambles to get ready before the whistle blows. Nearby, a first aid table is manned by several uniformed EMTs, armed with oxygen masks, life jackets, and other water-related rescue equipment. For safety, everyone must wear a waterproof light on their person. The pair who retrieves the most weights and places them in their basket within the allotted time wins!

You may not interfere with another pair in a dangerous manner; grabbing, spooking, shoving, or blocking a pair from returning to the surface are all banned. You may corral weights, but you may not attack other pairs who attempt to grab the weights; they are only yours if they are in your hands (or mouths, if you're a tokota!).

Midnight Mounted Marksmanship

Prompt

As the night falls even deeper into darkness, teams gather under the light of the moon for their next event. When you and your tokota can communicate seamlessly as a team, you know that you've done right by each other and what better way to demonstrate this teamwork than by participating in a mounted marksmanship competition? Not only does it require good teamwork, it requires skills unique to tokota and rider; agility and responsiveness on the tokota's part, and aim on the rider's. Participants for this competition must race through the paddock and pop ten balloons in quick succession. Ranking is based on both speed and accuracy! Riders may choose to use a firearm or a bow, but all will be judged in the same manner, so a firearm is recommended for speed.

Paint Balloon Fight

Prompt

With all the seriousness of the night, why not end it on a fun note? The two factions - wearing their faction colors with pride, of course - have armed themselves with with balloons filled with non-toxic paint in a multitude of colors. Mounted on their tokotas, riders must battle it out in a good old fashioned game; a water balloon fight. However, this time, instead of water, the balloons are filled with bright colors. Thankfully, they're easy to wash out and are perfectly safe to (accidentally!) eat. It's still advised that you try to avoid actually ingesting the paints, however. While the balloons are flying, however, there is an ultimate goal in mind; find and capture the opposing faction's flag to claim victory, for yourself and your faction!

Regarding collaboration, how do they work? Can three or more people collaborate (and would they all be able to use the same piece to enter if their characters met the requirement %?)?

There's a bonus for faction mate, but the person I usually collaborate with is not in my faction. There's a bonus for rival faction (but that doesn't require a handler). If a handler and 2 entering + one extra tokota owned by each collaborator were included would it count for the rival bonus, collab bonus and two entries, and would there be a limit to the number of collaborators?

I sketched out a scene good for three players if that's true, but to be fair per faction, I should have added 3 tokota + a handler, and it's already pretty crazy, I'm not sure they'd fit! XD If a collaboration is literature and image, could the writing portion fill in the last group, or would they need to also be the full 75% visible?

This is such a big undertaking I wanted to be sure what qualified before diving in/seeking collaborators/ect. ^^
