Well, after posting some snippets, of a personal project I've been working on, I've finally decided it's time to start putting this front and center and dedicating as much time to this as possible.
A few years ago, I decided I wanted to make a graphic novel. I've always loved comics, especially in graphic novel format, and thought it would be a fun side project to try and make one of my own. I knew right from the start that trying to make a graphic novel is a LOT of work, but I didn't know just HOW much work it would be until I got into the thick of things. I've drawn comics before when I was younger, but I've never actually finished a comic beyond 20 - 30 pages. So I knew right away that the main goal for me would just to actually finish a graphic novel. A "success" for me would just be the ability to actually hold a book in my hands and be able to look at it and say "I made this." I don't really care if it looks the best (although I will certainly try very hard to produce my best work), I mainly just want it to be fully completed.
I'll save more specific details about the project for some of my future journals about it, but I will say that I've written 170 + pages of script for the book and drawn and inked close to 50 pages. I've finished story boarding the story (very roughly) and I also know how the story will end, I just haven't written all of the pages leading up to it yet. The way things have worked out, I haven't been able to start coloring yet, beyond just a few tests (Here and here) that I did when I first started the project.
I'm currently focusing on trying to finish the script (at least the rough draft) and then hopefully get to working on busting out more pages.

Came back to check in on Deviant Art and... ...everything's completely changed. 😅 I was thinking about posting on here again as most other art sites have either disappeared or fallen by the wayside. Are the new changes to Deviant Art actually reflective of the community here or is this site still relatively dead? The site looks cool, but I am positively lost 😅
I'm not dead!
While I am less active on here, I am more actively pursuing art than ever before! The best places to follow me is either on my website, or over on my Patreon. What I've been up to: I just finished my 3rd comic book! I am currently just waiting on the printer to finish printing the books and then I will put it up for sale on my online store. I also started uploading my graphic novel, The Forgotten, to Webtoon! That way there's a mobile-friendly version for it, too! Keep being awesome!
10 years of Deviant Art (A Retrospective)
I have been on Deviant Art for 10 years. O_o
I started posting on here back in High School when I used primarily colored pencil and micron pens and drew really tiny hands.
I was young and copied almost anything and everything - character designs, poses, etc... My favorite thing to do was take a character design from one artist, and take a pose from a different artist, and mash them together. Plagiarism wasn't my intent, I honestly was just having fun drawing what interested me, but as I grew older I began to want to design/create my OWN things, not just copy other people's creativity. So eventually I took down everything that I conside

I have internet now, so I can be social again =)
I mentioned awhile ago that I had finished my script for The Forgotten, the graphic novel I am currently making.
I still have a long ways to go, but I have managed to make a fair amount of progress. I've drawn and inked about 80 pages so far, and am happy with my current progress, although now that I'm working full time, my output has slowed considerably. The script is over 300 pages so I still have a ways to go, especially since all those pages need to be colored as well! (I have about 30 pages col
