Vitaly generally gives off an impression of mysterious intimidation, what with him being relatively well-built with broad shoulders and tall. He almost always bears a stately, perfect posture in public, but yet seemingly constantly on-the-edge and alert at the same time.

Very reliable when it comes to being competent, following orders, and just generally doing a good job.
He has a very no-nonsense attitude when it comes to actually getting things done, and has a tendency to believe that ends justify the means, which gives him the reputation of being quite cruel at times. 

Around people he's more familiar with-- other folks in the military-- he’s regarded to be significantly more human than what is generally viewed of him than in normal society, more prone to crude jokes and snarky remarks. He'll usually be the first person to accidentally offend another person in a more polite environment, but he'll brush it off as them being too sensitive and carry on his day.

Pre-service

Vitaly was born to a humble military general and his wife, living a comfortable life out in the Swiss countryside.
He spent most of his childhood pulling out carrots on the farm and attending the local school, where he was the most reserved and reclosed.
Most of his free time was spent on either playing mature-rated video games, messing around in the woods, or spending his time on the internet reading on about history and exposing himself to politics at a very early age.

His father, he found great solace and chemistry with, both of them enjoying turn-based strategy games and weaponry as much as each other, as he grew up to find. Both of them appreciated silence and nature, and were alike in many different ways, from their natural curious demeanours, right up to the ever-so-present sly look in their eyes. Due to his career, however, he had to be away from home quite frequently, landing Vitaly into his mother's company. 

His mother, he was just as fond of, if not more, despite their lack of similarities. While his father taught him what he wanted to know, his mother taught him what he needed to know-- philosophy, farming, cooking, hunting, putting together makeshift weapons that her parents had taught her about in her own childhood --and even pick-pocketing when times are truly dire. No matter how much he loved animals, he certainly enjoyed a nice slab of venison killed with a half-century old Kalashnikov.

In his adolescence, he began to develop socially, instead of being a stuttering mess whenever confronted with a conversation but was still nonetheless terribly awkward.
He still found friendship, however, in a niche circle with other students with similar interests.

At the age of 12 however, his father didn't return home on the date as provided by the army, worrying his mother direly, for there was not a dependable flow of income anymore. It was essentially as though he had vanished off the face of the planet, nothing was ever heard from him ever again, and thus, his remaining family was sent into absolute struggle.

Eventually, he would leave school, and eventually they would sell part by part of their farmland as the need for money would grow, till all the land they had could only provide food to sustain themselves. Vitaly took it upon himself to enlist in the military to support his mother and himself, though he always wanted to join the military anyway-- against his mother’s advice to become a teacher in their town and not to fall to the same fate as his father, but he sought for glory more than stable living.

Service

During his time in service, he managed to develop his sociability with his comrades, being forced to do so given the situation, along with developing his combat and strategy abilities practically instead of theoretically, putting them to the test.
Eventually he and his unit would be deployed into more minor wars for peacekeeping and collecting information, where he failed in the former and excelled in the latter, slowly gaining a penchant for torture and sadism in interrogation since then.

Like the majority of soldiers involved in the war, he committed a ridiculous amount of torture and war crimes to claw out information from other nations, all in the name of psychological warfare. Half of his unit didn't particularly fare well after that, unable to handle and deal with what they've committed, while Vitaly was one of the few that managed to cope well.

Post-service

Shortly after the war, he was privately hired by a few government officials in Russia to do his thing on political dissidents and gladly accepted to do so to fuel his bloodlust, but the job was short-lived as the scandal quickly hit the news and was forced into hiding for a year, staying at his mother's house back in Switzerland.

Eventually, he found himself getting nagged at too frequently and applied for a private position at SIGMA.

A highly recessive [Ge]ne found in a few of the Zwiefelhofer bloodline. It holds the ability to manipulate the shape of metal.

• - It's partly linked to his psychological state, so when he's anxious he's prone to accidentally warping his rifle and it barely functions when he's in a depressive state.
