COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

BE RESPECTFUL || BE KIND || BE HELPFUL

Basics

:bulletpink: Do not harass, pester, or spam anyone in the group or the group itself.
:bulletpink: Be respectful to all group members no matter their status or how long they've been here.
:bulletpink: No godmodding
:bulletpink: Do not tolerate anyone else's spam/harassment/pestering, and report it to admins if necessary.

In-Depth

RESPECT:

:bulletpink: Any kind of disrespect towards any member will not be tolerated.
:bulletpink:Serious harassment towards members or admin will be met with an immediate kick from the group.
:bulletpink: The group is LGBTQ+ friendly, and we expect our members to be respectful of that.
:bulletpink: There will be no bashing due to race, sexual orientation, gender, etc.
:bulletpink: Always remember to have fun. This group is a safe place for all members. We're here to rp cats!

GODMODDING AND METAGAMING

Don't do it. We won't tolerate it.
Godmodding is defined as:
1) Taking control of another player’s character during roleplay;
For example, "Whitepaw (your character) jumped and kicked out with his hindpaws, sending Blackpaw (NOT your character) tumbling down the hill and into the stream!"
2) When a character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries;
For example, "Blackpaw got back up after the blow, standing easily. 'Tch,' he spat, shaking water from his fur, his pelt unharmed, 'You are weak.'"

Metagaming is defined as:
Using out-of-character knowledge--information the player has that their character shouldn't - to gain an in-character advantage.
(Example: You, the roleplayer, know that your friend's character has cheated on their mate. This is not made aware in-story, but your character somehow "finds out" without being told and confronts the other character about it.)

If someone is found to be godmodding, they will be warned twice. After the third offense, they will be kicked from the group.

ROMANCE AND KITS

Romance and kits are allowed in the group, but there are some rules to follow!
:bulletpink: Kits can only be had by cats who would in real life also be physically able to have kits. For example, two female cats will not be able to have kits, unless its through adoption*
:bulletpink: Both cats must be at least one year old.

Now if you want kits, send the group a note with links to both of the parents application sheets. We will then give you a number between 1 and 6, chosen with random.org, and that will be the size of your litter. After you get a number you can design your kits and put them up for tryouts in the group, where they will be playable after 1 month (realtime) of 'pregnancy'.

If we feel that one of the designs you've made for the kits isn't fitting, we will ask you to change it. Try to base the kittens' designs on the parents.

*Adoption is possible, though the rules differ a little
- You'll have to write a story for the kit/litter as of to why their birth parents could'nt take care of them
- You should follow the normal design guidelines instead of basing it off of the parents. But if there are multiple kits in the litter they should have some resemblence to each other.

Mates with previous litters must wait 3 months (real time) before having kits again.

SPAMMING:

:bulletpink: We don't tolerate spam.
:bulletpink: We define spam as multiple unnecessary posts that clog up pages and are generally annoying.
:bulletpink: Spamming on the front page (Saying like "I need a mate/someone to roleplay with" or "who is online rn") will be met with a warning. After 3 warnings, you will be kicked from the group.

Basically, use your head with this. You wouldn't go up to someone in person and say, "Can we hang out? Can we hang out? Can we hang out?" over and over again.

If you're looking for someone to roleplay with, please comment on their submissions/profiles or send them a note, or mention them in a roleplay journal. You can also try looking at our discord.

CRITIQUES AND CRITICISM:

Are both encouraged! They help us grow as artists and writers and are usually welcome. However:
:bulletpink: If a critique has not been requested by the OP and you want to comment with one, it must be constructive and positive.
:bulletpink: Do not leave negative critiques on artwork/stories where it is not welcome. Some will ask specifically for critiques in their Artist's Comments, and that is where some of the more harsh criticism is expected.
:bulletpink: If you have an issue with how someone depicted something/someone in their work, message an admin. We will take over from there.

GIVING CREDIT:

:bulletpink: Always ask permission to use someone else's characters, or credit them in your artist's comments if you didn't get permission beforehand.
:bulletpink: If someone is uncomfortable with you using their characters, don't use them.
:bulletpink: If someone used YOUR characters, make sure to ask for credit.
:bulletpink: If anyone used your characters without your permission and refuses to credit you, report the incident to an admin.
The admin will deal with the issue.

ACTIVITY:

Members are expected, and encouraged, to be active. They are the blood of the group, and without them, it will die! Activity is not obligatory, but will be rewarded.

Activity includes:
:bulletpink: Roleplaying with other members
:bulletpink: Writing stories, which can be of your roleplays as well
:bulletpink: Submitting artwork, which can be of stories or roleplays as well. We accept all mediums, but please make it look presentable.

You don't have to do all three, but you are encouraged to be active in at least one of the things above.
:bulletpink: As of right now we don't have activity checks/assignments.
:bulletpink: Admin will be watching the group to see how active it is. If group activity is low, members will be asked for feedback on how to improve the situation.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

ahhh it's been ages since i've properly interacted w the group, sorry about that
what are the rules about re-doing references/redesigning characters? i'm talking mostly about updating art and doing some small design tweaks
