Announcement for Character Design/Naming Contest

The deadline to turn in all entries will be on July 28th, 2016. I'm not so keen on what time, depending on the time zone of each country. But you can turn them in at whatever time you feel is most important.

The contestant with the winning entry will get a first-hand look at how I will progress with my first book in the series on Inkitt.com, plus an idea on how I plan to publish my series.

Okay, I assume you've all got that down, right?

Now, here's a thorough description of who my character is, her physical attributes, and personality traits.

She is an seventeen year old girl with raven-black hair that is straight and reaches to her waist. Her hair gets pretty messy, but is gathered by a thin cotton sash, which she uses as a ponytail wrap. Her skin tone is mostly a pale pigmentation, with the exception of tiny freckles on her face, plus a mini tooth gap somewhere between the right and front of her top teeth. The shape of her head is between a youth round and heart, her height is about a 5'6'', and she weighs in at 107 pounds. She has a lanky yet athletic build, and is an omnivore(she'll eat anything that has her favorite meat or veggies). And surprise, she has no eye color, because she was born blind.

 About her wardrobe, I am not too keen on how she should dress, according to her lifestyle and occupation. As for the setting, I was thinking on setting the story in a utopian city, like the World State in the novel Brave New World. And I have an idea of creating a world combining the universes of The Legend of Korra, The Adventures of Tintin, and the Steampunk universe. But since she is blind, she wears jika-tabi style boots because the soles will allow her to sense any vibrations she feels.                                

If you'd like an idea as to what clothes you'd like to draw for her, here are a couple examples to help you out:

          
Based on what I've offered you guys here, her outfit can be different color variants, since she has her clothes picked out for her, because she really can't see what colors they are. Her theming is based on neutral, warm, or cool colors.

Seems pretty easy, right? But you can draw her clothes anyway you prefer

Now, for the personality traits

She can get pretty aggressive, especially in combat, but she does have a soft spot. And she's very reliable, independent, hard-working, and is a little laid-back on some occasions. But on the inside, she feels a bit isolated because she thought of herself as an outcast due to her blindness. She is an only child, and works with her father Thomas and her nursemaid in an inn/restaurant and public house. Whenever she's not working, she is training for battle and combat. She loves to read in Braille, solve mysteries, experiment with magic, climbing trees, or practicing with a crystal rod made from a bo staff, angel wing-shaped headpiece, and a moonstone crystal.

So far, my character inspiration for her is Toph Beifong from Avatar: The Last Airbender, Rey from Star Wars:The Force Awakens, Tintin from The Adventures of Tintin, Hermione Granger from Harry Potter, and Korra from The Legend of Korra.
