F.A.Q. - Frequently Asked Question

Welcome to all the members and watchers of the group (also new watchers and visitants). In this section you will find some questions and answers a lot of people may be willing to ask or have a doubt about it.

IMPORTANT:
Just as a clarification about some questions here, Mad-Izoku ( the Haiblums' creator)  knows about "Copyright and Intelectual property issues" due to her university major (brief: ...Interactive Media), so she knows what she's talking about if you have any doubt about it. Some  of them could be pretty long, but if you read carefully you will know the reasons.

▶︎ 1. CAN I DRAW or MAKE MY OWN HAIBLUM?

No and yes. Sometimes, users usually drew a character of the species 1)to know if they could actually can draw them or feel attached to the  species or 2) create their dream character of the species; later buy or get a MYO slot  or CUSTOM slot and made it official. That's possible as far as you don't post it public your design without approval and claim them as the species itself!

They are a closed species by Mad-Izoku and let us explain this issue:

✦ WHY NO:  They are a concept and draws that belongs to Mad-Izoku and for RESPECT you may not "reproduce" those specific  draws or concept without permission. The "closed species" concept is more related to the specific lore and anatomy (or even the way how someone draws it) for a specific idea over a creature they created.

In many cultures respect is the base of harmony and taking other works or concepts is "not acceptably  correct"; you're copying others ideas. But Mad-Izoku don't know the culture or how each one is raised; other people could have different ideas about "what is ethically and morally correct".

Once an "idea or concept" is is your mind you have total control about it but when you release it to the public it's subject to the public view and fair use. Since Mad-Izoku was the one who posted that "idea", she has the right as a creator and the laws will support that fact.  Since she's didn't give you permission/license  to use "that idea" and profit from it you will be agains her specific TERMS OF USE that are related to the species, that would be the main reason you're not allowed to "create"  in these terms your own Haiblum or call your "character" based on that specific concept.


✦ WHY YES:  Mad-Izoku  CAN'T  and WON'T  stop you to create your own "Haiblum alike" character or close your imagination; in fact, you will be doing a "fan-character" of her Haiblum concept without  legal permission or license about it. It WON'T be recognize  as an official or registered approved Haiblum at the group  and you WON'T be allowed to submit it to  the group or any related place to them.  

There are many possible options and concepts about "reptile - dinosaur - shark alike creatures" with shark tails... and so on each person could have a different concept or idea how to design or drew them, so there is not conflict about it. If you draw them "EXACTLY" as Mad-Izoku arts looks will be a case of "plagiarism" and that is not allowed, and again the laws will be on Mad-Izoku  side.

Mad-Izoku  CAN'T copyright  traits (such arms, pads, ears, fur and so on)  but the art has rights. Each person has right and freedom but once their freedom activities could harm or reach others life or rights, it could be agains the law ( each one freedom starts where others’ freedom end ). You can do what you want as far you don’t harm other.

In other words, mocking on Mad-Izoku or official designers property art/design  could be considered a way of cyber bullying and she could take legal actions about it. Criticism is part of the Fair use, YES! but when you mock intentionally  agains someone as a way to harm or start a problem  for them it can be considered bullying. I hope everyone could understand these issue.

▶︎ 2. CAN I MAKE A HAIBLUM AND ASK FOR IT TO BE OFFICIAL?

Only if you got a "Make your own Character" (MYO) Haiblum slot via flat sale/ auction / trade you will be allowed to made your own official and ask for approval.

If you  post it/share it without approval or permission, it will be agains the Terms of use of Mad-Izoku. You will be blacklisted and banned from the group.   Again, Mad-Izoku can't stop you to create one on your sketchbook or something.

▶︎ 3. CAN I BE A MEMBER  EVEN IF DON'T OWN ONE?

Of course you can! If you love or like the species you are MORE THAN WELCOME!

▶︎ 4. HOW CAN I OBTAIN ONE?

There are many possible ways to get one via Mad-Izoku (the creator): flat sales, adoptable batches, auctions, raffles, offer to adopts, contests,  trades or customs.

▶︎5. CAN I BE AN OFFICIAL DESIGNER?

The convocactories are closed for now; as far Mad-Izoku is the one who will note you -privately- if you would like to join it as an official designer. It's not related if your "art" or "adoptables" are popular or not, if based mainly in confidence and respect.

Collabs or related will be stated via journals by Mad-Izoku on her personal account (not the group).

▶︎ 6. HOW MUCH ARE CUSTOMS or MYOs?

Sadly, we don't have (for now) a range about the prices for them. Mad-Izoku is in charge of the customs  and the prices for them, most of them related specially to her available free time to possible work of them. The customs and Myo's slots prices are no listed for now. Once there is a price for the customs a journal will be submitted on her personal account.

▶︎ 7. WHAT KIND OF SUBMISSIONS ARE ALLOWED ON THE GROUP?

Any kind of submissions related to official and registered Haiblums. Feral, humans, merman or gijinkas are allowed too.

Mature content, gore, +18 or any related content that could be considered as a way of discrimination or aggression WON'T and ISN'T allowed here. There is a different range of ages amount the members and we would like to keep harmony here.

▶︎ 8. CAN I CHANGE A TRAIT?

Change the  rarity of the traits is not allowed; only under certain situations:

1) Talk privately (via note) with Mad-Izoku about a change of trait, with a substantiated reason. Take in consideration that most of the traits that could be changed will be for one with lower rarity that the one you would like to change.

▶︎ 9. CAN I CHANGE THE TYPE ?

No you can't, only if you get a slot that could allow you to do it. Otherwise  is not allowed even if you note Mad-Izoku about it. There are many different types of Haiblums  listed, each one have different traits and appearance for their survival under the different ecosystem.

▶︎10. CAN MY HAIBLUMS HAVE BABIES / BREED?

No for now.

▶︎ 11. I WANT SOMEONE ELSE HAIBLUM...WHAT KIND I DO?

If they are willing to trade or sell it (only if they are the original buyers and the current owners) and wrote about it on a journal, you could go and talk with them, offering or trying to make a deal with them. If they say no, don't insist!

If you start noting or harassing someone for their owned Haiblums, we could considered it as a way of harassment  and we don't allow those kind of behavior on the group.

▶︎ 12. CAN I SUGGEST SOME IDEAS TO THE GROUP?

OF COURSE YOU CAN! We encourage you to do it and we're going to give you the respective credits about it on the group.
If you have any idea that could promote the cooperative atmosphere or any event  just note the group or Mad-Izoku about it!
