OCpageant2016 Round 4: Dja'niira

For this round the contestants are on a tropical vacation island. We were to pick one place on the island for our contestant and depict them there.

Dja'niira chose to stay at the luxury hotel. Turns out the gold prices are high currently, and where she comes from they use gold currency. So she's rather rich in this world actually.
But she really isn't very nice. In fact, she's a racist. She has nothing but contempt for humans. It might even be her who threw the plate on the ground to begin with. Or maybe she just thought it an opportunity. Being in power makes the worst come out in some people.
But her terrible manners aside, she is impeccably dressed in an Egyptian inspired cocktaildress made with silk feathers.

I've tried something new here stylewise; no lineart flat colours. I really like the result, but it. took. forever.... D: The background was actually faster like this for me, but the characters were painstakingly slow to do. I kindof also hate myself for drawing two characters, in perspective to each other and interacting with the background /i in the same piece/i with a deadline IN THE SAME WEEK AS MY WEDDING!
