Description

Here's the eighth profile in my original characters encyclopedia project. This one features one of the lead protagonists in my never-before-revealed Olympian Squadron team.

The Olympian Squadron is a concept I have been working on for quite some time and it is something that blends together Greek mythology with the superhero genre (particularly the Japanese subgenre). It is meant to be one of many heroic teams that exist within a shared universe.

The premise is as follows:

"Centuries ago, there was a war on Olympus led by a primordial evil known as Hekatomb. This demonic entity slew many of the Gods, including Zeus and his siblings. With Hekatomb's very presence threatening the safety of the Earth, Gaia used the essence of the remaining Olympian Gods to seal him away. Though successful, Gaia was forced to send the Gods into the afterlife where they were thus reborn as mortals. Sometime in the 21st century, Hekatomb is reborn and seeks to reclaim the Earth as his. Gaia awakens the reincarnated Gods and sends them off to battle the ancient evil. Olympian Squadron is intended to be a kind of send-up to the Super Sentai franchise, but borrows heavily from Greek mythology. There's room for additional storylines beyond Hekatomb as well, such as the rebirth of the Titans and battles against the many monsters from Greek myths."

Design-wise, the team will have an aesthetic that references Grecian armour but is modernized to look more like contemporary superheroes.
Each member of the team is meant to have their own unique weapon, power set, signature colour and personality. Though unintentional, there's a strong Wonder Woman vibe with Dea Alpha, one which I suspect the vast majority of people will pick up on. Hopefully her colour scheme, cunning and backstory are enough to distance her from the Amazing Amazon comparisons.

To help me with deciding the roster for the Olympian Squadron, I asked my watchers to rank Zeus' Olympian children. The most popular characters were therefore selected as members of this five-piece team. These votes also determined the rank of each character and the posting order. Athena landed in first place and was thus selected as the leader of the team (Dea Alpha - translated roughly as Alpha Goddess). With all that said, I'd like to thank those of you that voted on the poll. Specifically, I'd like to give a shout-out to Topherlee2, UncannyX-Factor, bjv016, m4gichat, Gold-Reaper, kingziggy, Steelpoodle, Jose-Ramiro, MercyInk87, featureanimestar97, digipinky75910, herofan135, Xameoh, GDupons, ParisNJones, ei9, RakaiThwei, K-Jounin, Jovan2013, justinator119, Godzilla713, ChazH101, DanFalcon and Leumasy. I hope you all like this concept and these characters!

For those who need clarifications as to what the power rankings consist of, you can view the outline here: static8.comicvine.com/uploads/…

As always, I love hearing from you all so please feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments section. If you all would like to see more of these profiles, please let me know.

Enjoy! :)

I like how with these characters you used part of the Greek alphabet to come up with their code names, very clever.

From what I have gathered Peyton is smart, a wrestler ( I had to look up what Pankration was ), strategic, and skilled with swords. All of those traits together make for a good combo especially when you take into consideration her powers the one standing out to me being her empathy. Does her empathy work in the way Phoebe's does from Charmed ? I love the fact that these characters are reincarnations of famous figures from mythology, her being quiet must make it hard for her to fill the role of the leader no ? I also like that you added in that she could be cunning and manipulative however it's all for the greater good.

Hair- I like her dreads and how the hair is pulled back laying on her face the way it does.

Face- The way her head gear shapes Peyton's face gives off a strong elegant vibe suited for a leader.

Suit- Going for the two toned look adds a nice detail to her suit as does the silver trimming. The flaps on her costume are interesting , it gives her a gladiator feel.

Arms and Legs- The arm bands give her an elegant regal feel while the cuffs add onto the gladiator vibe that I am getting , those are some killer boots Taylor !

Accessories- The strap for the cape and the strap for her sword nicely finishes off this elegant , regal , gladiator like costume !

Overall- I really like this, I have always been interested in mythology and your story adds a modern twist on it. Peyton is a very nice character and I cannot wait to check the rest out.
