The Discovery of Magic

Azaezle looked down into his cupped hands. The monarch seemed so small and fragile against his furred palms and giant claws. One of it's wings was ripped and it's body crushed.

"Oh Zed," he sniffed, "I'm so sorry."

He tried to blink away tears as his vision started to blur, making Zed appear to be just a fuzzy blob of orange and black. They had only known each other for a few day, but Azaezle had been so happy to have a friend. Who knows how Zed felt - he was a butterfly after all - so he probably didn't do much thinking. Still, that didn't seem to matter much to Azaezle, who held Zed to his chest as his shoulders shook with sobs he couldn't hold back. He pictured Zed as he had been, alive and fluttering freely in the breeze, from one wildflower to the next across the open prairie. Azaezle wished more than anything that those last few days together could go on forever.

Suddenly, Zed began to move. At first Azaezle thought it was only the wind catching the delicate wings, but Zed rose from Azaezle's hands into the air, and then on to the closest flower. Azaelzle stared at him - there was no sign on the harm he had caused Zed earlier when their game of tag got too rough.

"Zed! You're back!" Azaezle laughed, wiping away his tears. "Now we can play again! We'll have so much fun together! We can chase each other, and nap together, and go for swims, and wrestle, and..."

Poor Zed was lucky Azaezle had just discovered his magic was Life.

All Burroots have magic - what about yours? This is your chance to find out!

HOW: Make a piece of art (visual or literal) about your Burroot in a situation where they would need or want to use their magic. In the description of the piece, list a type of magic from each rarity level that your Burroot could use and how they would use it. Submit it to the magic quest folder!

EXAMPLE: If I drew Azaezle with Zed, I could list...
-common, Word: Azaezle's speech is magically understood by Zed.
-uncommon, Air: Azaezle controls the air to make a breeze blow Zed to him.
-rare, Fauna: Azaezle can magically bond with insects and animals like Zed.
-legendary, Life: Azaezle brought Zed back to life after accidentally killing him, again.

REWARD: I'll tell you which magic your Burroot has, and in the future you can draw them with an item (jewelry, clothes, tattoo, body paint, weapon, etc) that somehow represents their magic, or that they use when working their magic!

NOTES: for when you make your items, just a note on colors associated with each diety.
Leader's colors: yellow, green, white, gold
Protector's colors: blue, orange, black, silver
Watcher's colors: red, purple, gray, copper
