2.4.24: The World According to Discord

Of course, the most obvious clue to Zonama's identity (for those who followed the LU, at least) was her name - in New Jedi Order, 'Zonama Sekot' was a sentient planet who manifested an illusory humanoid 'interface' to interact with its visitors.  Combined with the way that the planet's day and night cycles and weather acted according to the rule of drama, it was supposed to be a clear indicator that something was up.

I have a tendency to write things backwards sometimes.  Planet!Discord winking at the camera while the Moldy Crow flies away from him was the second image I got in my head for the entire B plot (the Huntress in silhouette at the end of 2.1 being the first). The t-shaped Star Trek flash (which for some reason I thought was the effect used when Q appeared and disappeared, but which I've subsequently realized is actually the 'entering warp' effect) came later, when I needed a visual cue to indicate that Cookiecutter's transformation may have had a teensy bit of a push.

The sentiments Discord is referring to here are actually expressed by Celestia in one of the IDW comics as the explanation for why she always leaves saving Equestria from certain doom to the Mane Six.  She put it a little less dismissively, of course
