Glowfish

One fish, two fish, red fish, glow fish...

I work with a lot of glow in the dark effect jewellery so because this was meant to be a challenge I really wanted to do something different.

It took me most of the month to come up with this .

I love the polymer clay cane technique for making fish patterns so I made these little ones with glowing markings. They aren't meant to be a real species of fish but the shape and colours are based on koi (not a reef fish), and the markings are similar to clown anemonefish (a reef fish). And bioluminescence is found in many species of fish.

The original idea was just to make the fish but then I decided to put them in some scenery. I think sea squirts are kind of cool.

Made entirely with Fimo Soft polymer clay and gloss glaze.
Approximate size:
Height - 6 cm (2 1/2 in.)
Width (at base) - 5 cm (2 in.)
The fish are about 5 cm (2 in.) long from nose to tail.
