Rules
1. Be nice, be respectful (BnBr). ToW encourages players to be open-minded and kind to their fellow players. You may not always agree with their views, and that is okay. Keep arguments outside of the group and in private if you must have them. Harassment is never allowed in ToW. Breaking the BNBR policy can result in any number of strikes, depending on the level of misdemeanor.

2. Cheating is strictly prohibited. Mistakes happen, but please do not purposefully falsify your Aether tracker in hopes of getting ahead of the game.

3. Activity is important. Certain character ranks within the game are considered "High" ranks. Players with a high ranked character are required to post either artwork or literature at least once every two months per a character. These high ranks will be noted with a * next to their name on lore pages. One strike is administered for each missed activity check.

4. Normal ranks are better for those that fear for their activity, normal tiered ranks require that one posts at least once every four months per a character. One strike is administered for each missed activity check.

5. Turn in Witch Glass and Aether Counts on time. Every 3 months we'll be asking players to report their activity log, no penalty will be given for tardiness at this time, but that may change if abused. Players will simply be asked to comment with a link to their tier tracker.

6. In role play, do not god mod or take control of anyone else's character but your own unless another player gives permission. Be respectful of your RP partners comfort levels in an RP.

7. Only pg-13 artwork can be uploaded to the group. Mature artwork should either have a mature content filter on it  be uploaded to Sta.sh for credit.

8. In EVENTS characters may subject to injury. An event can never kill your character, but if your character is put in a situation where they may be injured, an admin will roll a dice to see what the outcome is. You can purchase spells of protection to ward injury from your character, but please understand that without one on hand before the event, your character will be subject to random chance. Part of the game is to have your character react to things that may be unexpected. Please understand this before playing the game.

9. Traced artwork and pre-made line art from other artists is not allowed within the group.

10. Characters in the group may not start out with any items unless specified by their chosen rank. Each species guide will provide more on the rules of character creation. Characters can be a mix of the common horse and a mythical creature, but not a mix of two mythical horses. If you are interested in a mixed species please note the group.

11. Most characters should have been born as a loner or within one of the four official factions, if you would like to deviate from the norm, please note the group as deviations from this rule will be limited. It is possible for characters to have switched factions in the past, but permission must be given.

11. Do not argue with admins over game play rules or outcomes. You can, however, submit a complaint or appeal if you feel you were treated unfairly. Please note the group titled "Mod/Admin Complaint" and list the admin or mod you have a problem with, and your situation. Another moderator will look over the complaint and make a decision. You can send in a complaint about anything, be it admins or general annoyances, but please do not abuse this feature as a place to rant.

12. Have fun, be active as is stress-free for you, and develop your characters!

Aether Earnings

//
Head shot……………... +1 Ae.
Full Body…………….... +2 Ae.
Simple Background….. +2 Ae.

A simple background is defined as loosely creating space for the character to exist in. It cannot just be a gradient or solid color, but may only have a small shape of a bg, or lack extreme work. A gradient with a cloud or two would be considered simple.

Complex Background….+ 4 Ae.

A complex background should have taken the user at least 90 minutes of work (approx) and show a foreground, middle ground, and background. There is detail in the painting.

Character Shading…….+1 Ae.

Collaboration +2 Ae per a collaborator. Collaborations are highly encouraged in ToW, and therefore result in a bonus, instead of cutting the Ae in half. Both artists must upload the work to their gallery, though it seems redundant, it is necessary to keep track of Aether

3 Posts Per Player RP…….…..….…+1 Ae per player
6 Posts Per Player RP……….....…….+ 3  Ae per player
12 Posts per a Player RP……......……+ 7 Ae per a player

Sketch RPs

3 post per player Sketch RP (SRP)...+ 2 ae per player

Disclaimer

TOW game play is one of many opportunities. In order create a game where members can actually affect the plot, there will be characters who rise and appear to be more important at times, however that does not mean that the player is "special" over other players. All players will be subject to the same rules. There will be an ebb and flow of character importance, and us admins will strive to be transparent and fair. There will be some things that seem more special, but any character, regardless of rank or status, has the power to change the Chevalin World. If you ever have a problem trying to find a way to play into a plot, please note the group, and we will help you come up with ideas.

Tips for Staying Involved and Excited

:bulletblack: If your character is denied a rank change, this is probably due to the population numbers. They will be able to change ranks in the future. However, to deal with the disappointment: find an in game reason for your character to have also been denied the rank change. Shift that rage or disappointment to your character! Perhaps in their anger they will try to leave the herd instead, perhaps they will take it with positivity and work twice as hard to achieve their goals. When things are denied to you: have them denied to your character as well to make things interesting.

:bulletblack: You will never be denied an in game marriage, fertility item, accessory, or spell purchase. Use those things to your advantage to move your character's story along.

:bulletblack: If you're looking to create a new Skill or Rank, make sure your character is looking to create these things as well. Viewable role plays

:bulletblack: Your lore altering plot application requires a petition (Faction Creation generally) but you aren't sure you'll have enough people on board to win over your petition, and be able to create your faction. We recommend role playing with others to get them excited about said faction. Perhaps your character had a dream or premonition of a faction in the mist. If your petition is unsuccessful, your character was just a little crazy/had a weird dream, but if your petition is successful there is now canon allusions to your new factions existence. Perhaps your character is actually looking to rebel against their current faction to create a new herd: this is so important to roleplay. Have your character recruit characters just like you are trying to recruit members. If your petition fails there are a million options now for your character: perhaps a path to redemption within their herd, or perhaps they are outcasted. Not all lore altering plots require a petition.

:bulletblack: If someone else auditioned for a lore altering plot that you really wanted: get involved with their plot. For this tip we'll use the lore altering plot example

"Open Wings: be the first Pegasus to leave Emberblood for another faction"
:bulletblack: Involve your character in their plot by asking them how you can be involved. Perhaps their pegasus needs a confidante, someone to share their urge to leave, and help them do so unnoticed! Perhaps both of your character's have made a pact to leave together, but something happens half way through and your character must return to Emberblood. Perhaps your character is jealous Emberblood had the chosen leave as way to improve herd relations (if that was the case), and your character is an antagonist in their quest. There are a million possibilities for your character to be involved in a plot, even if they aren't the "star" of the show.

:bulletblack: Be the second character to leave Emberblood! For a plot like this: the first time it happens opens the possibility up to everyone else. Your character may not be put in the official lore as shattering the Pegasus standard for loyalty to Emberblood: but YOU can still have your story for your character to leave.

:bulletblack: Shift your disappointment to your character's pain. Make a reason for them to fail. This way you do not have to change your characters dreams to leave, but you can set outside forces against them.

:bulletblack: Find a different lore altering plot for one of your characters: there is a list of lore altering plots available, maybe you'll get a different one!

:bulletblack: Focus on your character's personal story, without trying to break the world lore. Occasionally these huge lore altering plots happen, but they are not the only thing to look forward to in the group. Your character is meant to be a living, breathing character in the world of Chevalin. There are hundreds of moments and plots that can happen in their life without breaking the world canon. Admins aren't here to control your character.

:bulletblack: Forge ahead in events. In group events, a lot is fair game. Your character has a chance to be a hero, supporting character, or villain in such events.
