By nature, she finds it difficult to connect with people and tiresome to invest a lot of work into a relationship, so she often does not. However, there are some connections that she deems worthy of her attention, so she does try to befriend people that interest her. Also, she has come to the conclusion that being occupied with other people stops her from spending her time alone dwelling on difficult topics that sour her mood, so she will try to break out of her shell when something's bothering her. She isn’t the kind of person who likes to get all close and personal with other people; she prefers to have small-talk, if she speaks at all.

Rajani does what she wants, even if that might not always mean doing the most radical thing. If she wants to avoid you, she will. If she wants to talk to you, she will. If she wants to lop off ten inches of her hair and get a nose piercing, she will do it. (She already has done it, actually.) She can get highly motivated to do certain things, but she often sets unrealistic goals for herself and people around her. Although she sometimes has high ambitions, she also tends to live in the moment, hoping to enjoy things as they come and not actually look too far in the future. While the future does not daunt her, the past does haunt her, so she tends to take her own shortcomings very seriously and will constantly fear the repetition of heartbreaks past. 

She’s a pretty hard person to please, and if you get on her bad side when you first meet her, have fun trying to get her to like you. She holds grudges very easily. She gets really protective of her possessions, her friends, and her dignity, and any negative comments directed toward any of those things will affect her on a personal level.

History: 
Being surrounded by her extroverted family members, Rajani often felt like the odd one out because she couldn't fully relate to the rest of her family. She also had a difficult time connecting with other people around her, prefering to keep to herself and indulging in a good book. She did everything else well, like school and manners and building character, but her family members frequently encouraged her to make friends by setting her up with people that she didn't really click with. 

Until one day, she met this other girl who also loved books and smiled a lot and had really soft hair and Rajani thought that maybe this socializing thing wouldn't be so bad after all.

tl;dr: awkward introvert in her extroverted fam, made one "gal pal" friend and fam got mad bc they didn't want gay in fam, somehow got adopted into the mafia, was bi and is now back to lesbian after relationship issues, arranged marriage weird stuff, mafia fam stood up for her, something happened and now she's somehow really high up in the social ranks of this italian family that she wasn't even born into
