Personality
Personality: A lovely horse, with a lot of body, but with a small heart. He isn’t very brave, though he likes to act like he is. He can huff and puff, trot around like he is a king, but if you put him in front of a group, he isn’t so sure anymore. Normally he goes well with other horses, but some don’t like his ‘act’, and if they fall out at him, he can crawl into his shell and get insecure. So you need to make sure he is in the right group in the meadow. As a sportshorse, he’s got some flashy moves, but he finds it very difficult to relax, making some moves hard for him. That will be his main focuspoint in riding, relaxation. He can also jump, but he needs a very confident rider in this. If you give him to much room, he’ll chicken out. But if you can convince him that he’s gonna be fine, he’ll go for it. Around the farm he’s very sweet. He loves attention, and knows well how to get it. He also loves the cats, and they often sleep in his box, sometimes even on his back.
Best Friend:
Favourite Treat: Raisins
Quirks: He loves butt scratches, and if you stop scratching he’ll just back into you, untill you start scratching his butt again… And he poops, A LOT. Mostly during work, only small heaps.
He also loves to have things on his head. Buckets, blankets, caps, cats, you name it, he'll love it!
Dislikes: Water. Het thinks it’s terrifying that his feet just kinda dissappear in that stuff..
History: When Momo was three year old, his dressage training began at the stable he was bred at. But at that time, he wasn’t fully grown yet. In training they mainly focussed on front movement: flashy legs, high tension necks etc. This combined with his not fully developed body, resulted in a horse who was ‘stuck’ on multiple places in his body. It went so far that sometimes his trots became uneven. At 5 year old the stable concluded Momo would never be a good sportshorse, so they sold him. A girl bought him, but she had some troubles helping him through his insecurities, resulting in multiple falls, and loss of trust both ways. She stopped riding him everyday, which only made it worse. Eventualle he just stood in the stable or the meadow or the arena. She decided to sell him, and that’s how he ended up wit hus. Now he’s too fat, has loads of energy and is ‘stuck’ in his shoulders. But we’ll work in that.
