:bulletpink: Sunset Lyre :bulletpink:

Sunset Lyre City on the eastern coast of the island is a small city with an old fashioned feel to it. It sits on the coast of Sunset Cape, a marine sanctuary home to fantastic coral formations and a great sight for snorkeling, scuba diving, and other aquatic activities, minus motor vehicles and fishing of course! A cool highlight of the coral bay is an authentic sunken pirate ship, now turned artificial reef along with a few other intentionally sunk man-made objects.
One small area of the reef near the harbor is a shallow-water designated Battle Arena.
The city's main highlights are a boardwalk along the waterfront with lots of fun games, an arcade and great eats, while within the city is a huge arboretum and greenhouse.

On the cape overlooking the city and bay is Olivine Lighthouse, where Olivine Gym and its member dorms are located.

Off the coast is Crescent Island, a partially submerged extinct volcanic crater, connected to a barrier reef that makes up the little archipelago known as the Star Islands. Crescent Island has a large cave entrance just past the beach that goes deep down below sea level...
Who knows what it might connect to on the other end..?

On clear days when the tide is low, sometimes a tower can be seen far out at sea. It has been dubbed Seaview Tower, and not many have ever sailed out to it, let alone dove to its depths to see what may lie at the very bottom.

Finally, a little grotto is nestled into the western point of Sunset Lyre Cape. At low tide it's traversible, and it makes for a very beautiful secluded nook with its pearlescent walls covered in seaweed and bivalves, echoing with the sound of waves lapping over the sandy floor.

:bulletpurple: Acuity County :bulletpurple:

Predominantly the snowbound Acuity Mountains, this region of the island features many waterfalls that feed the island's rivers, including the majestic Wishing Falls that cascades down into Angel Lake. When Angel Lake freezes over in winters, its icy surface is often used as a battle arena.

Up in the frigid mountain peaks is Uxie Tower, the uninhabited site of the old Acuity Gym. The top of the tower is still used as a battle arena for those brave or foolhardy enough to venture up into the icy snow-covered crags of the mountains and then climb the abandoned tower.
There are dozens of caves hidden in these mountains. Supposedly, all of these caves are connected within the earth as a labyrinthine network. In the deepest basement of Uxie Tower one can find a cave entrance.. if one wishes to explore, that might be a good place to start.

In the valley that connects Sunset Lyre to the rest of the island is a little hamlet called Linden. Wind funnels strongly through the valley, so windmills around the western end of the hamlet provide some electrical power to Sunset Lyre.

:bulletgreen: Ilex County :bulletgreen:

The most heavily-forested part of the island, this inland region is the location of Ilex Dojo which sits on the shores of May Lake. Ilex Dojo is home to Ilex Gym as well as a temple with beautiful natural grounds, a pond and a pagoda. Nearby south of the gym are cultivated berry fields.
On the opposite side of the lake is a forest clearing with an abandoned shrine, no longer maintained and forgotten, its patron deity lost to time.

Deeper into the forest is the Haunted Mansion, a popular location for dares, ghost hunters, and those dark and ghost types looking for a romantic weekend getaway. The grounds of the mansion can be treacherous, overgrown with brambles hiding rubble and pitfalls. And be even more careful inside the building; its rotting floors and dilapidated interior can be dangerous, nevermind its inhabitants.
Nearer to the main highway that passes through the forest is the cemetery. This is an actively used cemetery, a quiet, peaceful place to lay inhabitants of the island to rest.

Thunderstone National Park is the crater between Ilex County and Sunset Lyre, an arid natural area full of geysers, springs and pools, unique wildlife and flora, and featuring a little visitor's center and very small community who live in and maintain the naturalness of the crater. This national park is still, technically, an active volcano. The last eruption was hundreds of thousands of years ago, but the boiling springs and geysers demonstrate that beneath the earth the lava is still alive and kickin'.
At the far end of the crater is an abandoned mine whose operations were discontinued when the crater was declared a national park. Nobody is sure how much of the mine is still traversible, or even how deep it goes, or where it ends.

On the southern shore at the river delta is Apiri's Mail Center. From this huge post office all of the island's mail is sorted and shipped to its destinations, on and off island.

Where the river lets out into the ocean is Rosewood Bay and a small uninhabited island with a wild and lush jungle on it. Supposedly there is a sunken pond on this island that leads into underground rivers of half fresh, half salt water.

:bulletyellow: Dione County :bulletyellow:

The city of Dione spans Anxo River where it branches off to May River. A much smaller city than Maelstorm but still a lively metropolis, Dione is a city of arts and recreation. Boasting not one but two of the island's gyms, Valor Headquarters and Pallet art labs where both gym's arenas and dormitories are housed. Valor Headquarters is home of the island's police force, which is headed by the gym's duo of leaders. The headquarters is a multistory building that also includes indoor basketball and tennis courts and an indoor pool, fitness center, battle training facilities, aforementioned gym and gym member housing and the police headquarters. The roof has a helicopter landing pad, where the police helicopter sits ready for action.
This gym is located east of the river towering over the bridge, in the part of the city known as Central Dione.
West Dione is the largest unbroken part of the city, west of the Anxo River, and is home to multiple museums of art, history and science, most of the waterfront parks and walks, as well as Little Italy. In northwest Dione is Pallet Gym which is a state-of-the-art art lab open to public use, and home of Pallet gym member's dormitories.
There are three bridges connecting the city over the rivers, two of which are drawbridges.
The smallest part of Dione is South Dione, south of the crook of the river. This is primarily an industrial area.

Where May River branches off southward toward the ocean to become Ambrose River, the biggest tree on the island grows in the forest. This tree is a landmark and well-known to the island's inhabitants, even being inhabited itself! A small community has taken up permanent residence in the tree's sprawling branches with tree houses, living amongst the birds and bugs and other pokemon nesting here. This tree is a protected landmark; the community was developed before this decree, so nowadays getting residence in the branches requires a thorough screening and approval by the island league.

On the northern shore of Rosewood Bay where the river lets into the sea is Rosewood, the community that grew around the new, state-of-the-art Joy Hospital. The hospital is home to Joy Gym and its dormitories, and in the community surrounding there's also Cafe Joy and a bakery. These shops are affiliated with Joy and one can frequently find the gym leader herself working at them.
Joy Hospital oversees functions of Pokemon Centers across the island. Joy team members are all given free CPR, first aid and battlefield medicine training from any of these facilities.

:bulletred: Valor County :bulletred:

Valor county is a less inhabited region of the island made up of the Silver Plains, the hills north of there, and on the northwest coast of the island Valor volcano and the crater at its base, harboring the Wastelands. Valor volcano is the only active volcano on the island, smoking almost year-round and roiling deep inside with red-hot lava. At the volcano's base, heated by magma is a huge onsen with multiple hot springs and rooms for extended stay, a spa, and the landing site for a cable car that will take visitors up to the rim of the volcano.
At the volcano's crest spectators can watch battlers in the volcano mouth battle arena, a place only the most heat-resistant of gijinka can set foot.
Around the volcano are also multiple lava tubes, round caves carved out by past eruptions out of the volcano's sides. The most well-known of these tubes is named Nightlight cave because of the glittering minerals left behind by magma and the luminescent crystals that glow in the dark deeper inside the lava tube.

East of the volcano on the Silver Plains, nourished by rich volcanic soil is farmland with everything from livestock to crops, orchards to plant nurseries. A designated battle arena has been set up on the farms, an ideal location for an even playing field for gijinka of all types.

The wastelands in the crater below Valor Volcano are a hazardous environment, quite a contrast to the rest of the island. An abandoned laboratory and ghost town are some of the only notable landmarks within the wastelands. Otherwise the crater is barren of life, save for hardy poison types like grimer and trubbish. Toxic waste dumped during the laboratory's past life still poison the earth here.
The crater walls have some small cave entrances, possibly connecting to the lava tubes in Valor Volcano.
At the crater entrance is Rocket Facility where Rocket gym is located. The building is large and closed off to the public. What goes on behind these walls is a mystery to those outside of the team, apart from the battle arena for gym challengers.

:bulletblue: Maelstorm County :bulletblue:

Home of the international city Maelstorm, where all island newcomers first make land.
Centrally located within the city is Oak Academy, home of Team Oak and Oak gym challenges.
The island battle stadium is also located in this city, nearer the outskirts.
One can also find a sprawling Chinatown, Koreatown and International Marketplace, great tourist destinations as well as good shopping and restaurants for the locals. Street fairs, parades and block parties are common around these areas of the city.
On the coast are Maelstorm's extensive harbor featuring a lighthouse, fish market, international docking and the superferry port.
Further along the coast is the boardwalk featuring amusements, games, food and carnival rides.

The lowland plains east of Maelstorm City is permanently flooded, and Wandering Lake blends into a sprawling marsh on its western side. The marshes are home to many amphibious inhabitants and water birds, and is spanned with wooden walkways so people can visit without disturbing the environment. One interesting little attraction in the marsh is a growth-covered shrine that, beneath the thick cover of muck, peat and water weeds, gleams with gold.

Off the coast near Maelstorm Bay is a sandbar that can be waded on at low tide, and nearby to the sandbar is a floating village called Floaway with a predominantly water-type population.

The large island south of Maelstorm is known as Hoaka, and is home to the island league's headquarters, its eighth gym, and a wild amusement park!

:bulletwhite: Hoaka Island :bulletwhite:

Hoaka Island off the south-west coast from Maelstorm is the site of a gigantic Orange Park amusement park as well as the headquarters of the Island League.
The Island League's main headquarters towers over the small peaks of the island and has a 360-degree view of the entire island and the ocean around it from the top. Around it the amusement park covers just about all of the island; roller coasters, swing ride, carousel, shooting gallery, teacups. A hotel for multi-day park goers is nestled in the crook of the hills at the heart of the island. The cove facing Platform Island has a dock for the superferry and plenty of aquatic attractions too. Rentals for jet skis, scuba gear, motor boats and sail boats, boat tours and day cruises take off from from here, and tourists can get surf, scuba and stand-up paddle lessons here, among plenty of other things.
On the northernmost point of the island is a small lighthouse, and on the easternmost point is an aquarium.
Uniquely, this aquarium doesn't pen in animals but rather features underwater plexiglass tubes for visitors to see aquatic wildlife in its natural habitat.

Finally, what Island League headquarters would be complete without plenty of battle arenas? Within Orange Park grounds is a stage battle arena, a popular place for more contest- and theatrics-oriented combat. Out over the water is another battlefield spanning above and below the surface, and on the west end of the island is a sloping battlefield going from beach to hillside.
And last but not least, the eighth gym of the league, Hoaka Gym, has its official battle arena on the roof of the gym leaders building.

And that, Peepers, is your island home! Your character is free to live anywhere on the island, and you guys are encouraged to use any of these locales for rp sights and prompts!
Not only that, feel free to add in the comments any headcanons you might have or how these locations have influenced your rps! Popular member-input can become canon to the island.

Much thanks to Azureetti for drawing a map that I used as the base of this one. This would look only half as good if not for that map!

Think about blasiting around the perimeter course in a Ferrari 458 Italia or Lamborghini Aventador ir some other super car or hell even a nicely hopped up Ford Mustang that handles like a dream. The perimeter ring has a lot of tight, technical sections that would add a lot of challenge as well as some nice high speed turns to blast thru at over 150 MPH pushing 200 MPH. I dunno about you but that would be a lot of fun.
