Note: Imara does not yet know that she has a new magic type, or where it came from, or how to use it. Her abilities and limitations will be revealed as she discovers them :D

She has learned that:

- Fires go out in her presence sometimes (Warm Your Soul By The Fire)
- She can't stop the fires from going out, but she can cause them to go out on purpose (Ownership)
- She no longer needs to eat to stay alive, and her hunger is not tied to how recently she has eaten (Winter, Alone)
- The way she consumes fires is similar to a type of black magic known as Leech (Magic Testing, To Find Another)

She originally believes the Silverthorne Gods cursed her for turning her back on them and running to Blackwood. The "curse", as far as she believed, causes flames to go out in her presence, denying her the comfort and warmth they bring. Now she is begining to suspect that it is not a curse from the Silverthorne Gods, but a blessing from Uir who has given her a new kind of Black Magic that works against flames instead of souls. Relationships:

Ember | Doe | Flamesmith - Full sister. Imara is Ember's opposite in nearly every way. Ember was the eldest of her mother's five and Imara the youngest. While both aspired to be soldiers in their youth, Ember gave up when she was told it wasn't a suitable occupation for does but Imara stuck to it. Ember is as patient and rational as Imara is impulsive and hotheaded. Imara looks up to her sister for her unique strength but Ember largely wishes her sister would be a little more logical and stay out of trouble. They have a close bond despite the difference in age.

Appearance: 


Originally, in Silverthorne: BOLD! Her coat is bold and so is she. She has a nice curvy build without being stout, but still had sufficient muscle to hold her own as a soldier before she left the herd. She cares for her appearance and can be vain about it but Ember ultimately impressed upon her the importance of at least keeping her hair short enough to not be a liability in the field.

After moving to Blackwood: Imara's curse stops her from eating food, and it shows on her frame. Her coat is still a rich dark red, but it is draped over a bony and no longer curvy body. She's picked up a few scrapes and scars, and her mane and tail are kept shorter.

Personality:

Originally, in Silverthorne: BOLD! Imara is not shy, and is not shy about sharing her opinions even when they get her in trouble. And they've gotten her in plenty of trouble. Imara is a dreamer and when she sets herself to a goal she almost always accomplishes it regardless of what anyone thinks or what the cost ends up being.

After moving to Blackwood: After the loss of Makar, her gods and her family, Imara is a bit more reserved. She is still quite stubborn and lets nothing get in the way of her goals, but she is not as bubbly and sociable as she once was.

Companion: Black-and-white casqued hornbill male named MoonMoon for the full moon marking on his backside and the crescent moon marking on his tail. DECEASED - killed by a Silverthorne soldier.

History: From her earliest days, Imara wanted to be a soldier. She refused to give up this dream despite misgivings from her parents and older siblings. She rose from Recruit to the rank of Soldier in the Silverthorne Army, a feat of which she trained hard for and was incredibly proud.

Ultimately, the fatal combination of being a doe and speaking her mind was her downfall. It was suggested none to subtly that she ought to pursue proper doe things, like learning herbs and having babies, and leave the real soldier work to the stags. While she did hope to have fawns some day she felt she wasn't ready to give up her freedom just yet and she found herbs incurably boring.

767 - Imara had a falling out with her family, and decided she was done with this superstitious herd and their nonsense. She left the herd and wandered around the outskirts in search of a place to call her own that wasn't full of patrols or predators or barren ground. She was rather sorry that she never got to say farewell to Ember who was off in her mountain fortress somewhere at the time. While Imara considered seeking out her closest sister, she decided she would rather pave her own way with her newly found freedom.

She encountered a handsome stag who told her all about Blackwood and Uir. They became quite smitten, and she decided to follow him to Blackwood. On their journey they were surprised by a Silverthorne patrol, resulting in grave injuries for Makar. Imara continued on her journey to Blackwood alone, where the patrol of Silverthorne soldiers catches up with her. For some reason they are unable to keep their flames lit and, convinced that they've been cursed by demons, they flee.

768 - Lost in Blackwood, Imara is found by Charon, who brings her to King Skoll and tells her about how to join the herd. She looks forward to proving herself >:3

After starting to suffer from starvation and exhaustion, she encounters a pair of herbalists and their fire and strange things happen. Their fire disappears, and she suddenly feels well again. They give her fire magic herbs in an attempt to rekindle her fire magic, but nothing works. What's all that about? They also give her a powder that amplifies fire violently- if she can't make her own fire, she can at least expand any that she comes across.

Imara gets caught up in a massive wildfire around her temporary home. The long recovery from her injuries inspires her to explore her "curse", and she discovers she has some control over fires going out around her.

Imara completed her Coming of Age trial and proves herself to the herd by spending the winter alone

769 - Imara is now a member of the herd and a full warrior! Commence rejoicing!

Consulting with the Elder Witch, he tells her about a type of Black Magic known as Leech, which sounds similair to hers, and advises that she talk to one. She does, and finds they have a lot in common. Consulting with a shaman later, she realizes that her new ability may be a gift from Uir and not a curse from the Silverthorne gods after all. 

Imara meets a firebringer and quickly realizes how useful it would be to have one helping her out.
