For as long as we can remember, magic has been apart of our world. While rare and suppressed, it existed much to the ire of the masses. Uncontrolled, untamable, those born with these rare gifts have always been treated poorly and outcast from the world.

Then, one day, it appeared. A great academy, tasked with taken in the unwanted. Originally, this great building was not an academy, but built as a prison to lock up those who were born with these great abilities, to lock them away from the rest of the world. However, many renovations later and the large decrepit building became what it is now, a sanctuary for those with no other place to go.

Naturally, the outside world did not agree with this idea and in the beginning a long political war erupted. Eventually, they saw the light to this school, and allowed it to be, though under harsh circumstances. Those that attended this school must remain within the coarse of the academy much longer than regular humans, and must have pristine grades in order to join the rest of the world outside of it. Graduating from the Academy allowed them a Pass of Rights, stating them as an "accepted" citizen.

With the idea of nurturing the talents of these young and gifted individuals, those who brought about this Academy also had another idea in mind; to open the eyes and minds of the general public to see these beings as their peers and equals.


Anti-Factions


As time went by, and the Academy began to achieve their goal, little by little, hatred and unacceptance gave rise to various Anti-Factions. Opposing not only the school, but magic in general, they began to hunt and poach those they found or came across with magic, be it animal or "human." These factions were particularly powerful, preying on the fears and doubts of the public when it came to the mages, and there was little the academy could do to contain these doubts.

As time went by, these factions became crueler in their works, often kidnapping children and adults alike with magic, experimenting and torturing them harshly. Unable to stand this slight any longer, the headmaster of the academy appealed to the Courts of the human world, and after long political battles that lasted centuries, the Anti-factions became illegal. However, just because they became illegal, doesn't mean they disappeared entirely. While more rare, Anti-Factions still existed, seeking to break and destroy those with magical ability.

With these new enemies catering to and spreading hate and fear, the idea of opening the publics mind towards them became ever more important.
