Types of Characters

While human mainly, the students of SA are gifted with the unnatural talent of magic. Magic does not alter the appearance of these beings, but depending on the Element of their abilities, it allows them to be stronger or weaker in certain aspects.

Those who enroll at SA are often of any age, most of those who live at the academy are often young children abandoned there by their ashamed parents, after all, though this group shall be dedicated to the older group. Please make sure your character/s is/are around 16 - 20 years old.

When creating your character, do keep in mind the intended dorm/tower for your character. This will define their type of magic, and often times is linked to their personality as well. For available abilities, look at the descriptions within the Seasonal Towers, as well as to get an idea as to what the Tower will be like.

Be sure to reserve a spot in the tower of interest, so that your character can automatically be added to it when you've completed the app!

Joining

When the group is open for characters and you've completed your app, note the group with the following format:

Character: { name }
App: { link to app }
Tower/Dorm: { tower/dorm }

Not only should you have the app filed out, but also be sure that you fill out the written part in the description of your app as well!

Character Design FAQ

A bit different from our regular FAQ, this particular set of questions and answers are based solely on character creation. If you have any questions regarding the designing of your character, you make ask here, if it hasn't already been answered, elsewise, any other question should be directed to our actual FAQ.

Q: Can my character have an unnatural hair colour?
Absolutely! You can even give them rainbow coloured hair if you want to be that creative.

Q: Does my character have to be human? Can they have non-human appearances?
As stated in the FAQ, they do, in fact, have to be human. Some alterations, such as, say, elf ears, are passible, but if you want to add things like horns or tails, or even give them wings, then that'll be a no go, I'm afraid.
While naturally, however, such alterations are impossible, if there is a creative enough reasoning as to why said character has a tail or something, we may allow it to pass.

Q: Can someone else draw the picture on my app?
It is important that you draw your own characters, but to an extent, if you cannot draw, you are allowed to have someone else draw your character on your app for you as long as you use their art with their consent, and credit them for it. Under no circumstances will we allow our members to steal the art of others and claim it as their own. That's not cool at all.
On the other hand; bases or dress up games are not allowed. Please put effort into your app, it really shows how interested you are in the group. If the art is clearly from a dress up game or if you used a base, that is not completely your art.
