Kamitsune General Info

A blend of mystical elementals and fox spirits (Kitsune), Kamitsune are naturally carefree, curious and playful creatures who reside in all corners of the world. It is said they are descended from the Elemental Gods (Kami) themselves. This is where they get their name.

Kamitsune feed of a variety of emotions. They favour humans above all else, as their range of emotions varies dramatically and it is upon these emotions or "Essences" that Kamitsune feed on. The greater and more significant of an emotional reaction they get, the better the Essence and the stronger they become for a longer period of time. Each variation of an Essence, if taken in larger quantities, gives them a different sort of "high" or feeling that differs from Kamitsune to Kamitsune. Because of this, some of them only feed off of one or two particular Essences and as such, their tactics for evoking those emotions can sometimes be a bit on the dramatic and drastic side. It is possible for a Kamitsune to become addicted to a particular type of emotion, craving that one above all else.

There are two types of Kamitsune; The Angea and the Devi. Angea are True Spirit Kamitsune, meaning they are the natural, regular forms, while the Devi are fallen Angea, tainted and darkened with the harsher Essences they've drained from humans, other Kamitsune and all other life. Devi do not discriminate from whom they feed so long as they get what they want, and will go to extremes to gain Essence, up to and including murder, as it is those final moments when faced with this kind of Death that Fear is strongest and most potent.

Devi are created one of two ways. The first is by causing an Angea to "fall", meaning the Angea becomes corrupted and they physically change. This method tends to yield the more "evil" and "insane" Devi. The second, is by natural birth. Over the years, Devi began repopulating their numbers naturally, by breeding and giving birth to their own children. Devi who are born instead of corrupted are more often than not, gentler and more open in nature than their fallen brethren.

There are legends of Devi rising and going through a cleansing to once again become Angea, but only those among the Mystics and Lore Masters know if these legends are true or not.  Rumour has it though, there is one residing somewhere in the Spirit World, but noone knows who they are or where.

They live in a parallel realm called the Spirit World, separated from the Human World by a thin sheen of magic only visible to the Kamitsune. Though there are tales of special, "Touched" humans who have on occasion seen it. This barrier is known as The Veil, and the Kamitsune have the ability to easily slip back and forth between the two worlds.

The Spirit World contains a vast number of Spirit cities and various regions that the Kamitsune call home, and as there are a countless number of these cities, the dress and religions and customs are just as varied between the Kamitsune as they are the Humans.

There is a massive central city called Spindel, located on a floating island above the land in the West, where the Angea Ruling family reside. This floating island is locked off from any Devi, but Angea may freely come and go via portals in other cities in their lands. Any and all Kamitsune in good standing are welcome to come and go as they please using a vast network of mirror like teleportation doorways. Scattered throughout this city are open doors that lead to anywhere one wants in the Spirit World. Simply think of which Spirit City or area you would like to travel to, and walk through the door. These doors are not connected to the Human world though, and they are warded against Devi, so while the Devi have free reign in the Spirit and Human Worlds, they cannot enter Spindel. Instead, they've developed their own central City called Spiral, that functions the same as Spindel, a massive city floating above the lands in the Eastern Continent, and, much like the Angea Capital, this floating island is locked off from any Angea whereas Devi may freely come and go via a variety of portals in other eastern cities.



Body Types vary in size and shape. Be creative and have fun! The Young Adult and older females typically stand anywhere from 4'5" to 5'7", though there are some exceptions (some shorter, some taller) particularly in the older ones. Males range from 5'5" to some well over 7'0" tall.

Their "fur" is really more like skin than fluffy fur, like peaches: skin with very fine, barely noticeable softness! The fur tufts on shoulders, elbows and legs are fairly common, but are totally optional if you'd rather a more sleek look for your babe!

Kamitsune do NOT have muzzles, or snout shaped faces. They have human shaped faces and a variety of nose shapes. Though they are humanoid in this respect, they are not classified Kemonomini, as they are not just "humans with ears and a tail". They are otherworldly creatures and their colourings reflect this.

Tail Halos, their Main Crystals and Fox-Fires (wings and tail alike) are always all the same colour as their Main Element. Only new Crystals from teachers are ever a different colour as they are the colour of the Teacher's Element.

When it comes to Elemental Crystals that orbit their tails, by default, I draw plain circles, however YOU get to choose their actual shape! Crystal shapes can be anything you want, personalized to your own Kamitsune! However, they are always the same colour as their element and Tail Halos unless you purchase a Transmogrification to change what they are made out of!

As a default, ALL Kamitsune have "Shapeshift I", this does not need to be recorded on your profile.

All Kamitsune have Small sized wings as default. They must use the Augmentation spells or Transmogrification in order to change their shapes.



Each Kamitsune has a pair of Wings. These allow them to hover or fly. They rarely walk or touch ground, preferring the freedom of flight. The Spirit, or Fox-Fire, part of the wings are always the same colour as their Main Element.

Wing colours can be anything you like.

Kamitsune (Angea and Devi alike) can expend one or more of their power crystal slots to increase the size of their wings. This spell is known as "Augment", and it takes the place of one of your Main Element power slots. This cannot be changed or regained as it is a permanent thing. The larger the wings, the higher and faster they can fly, as well as use their wings in combat. Kamitsune with the "Augment" spell can change the size of their wings at will, but they cannot exceed the level of Augment they have. For example, if a Kamitsune only has Augment Level I, they cannot have Large sized wings, but they can have Small or Medium as they so choose, shifting between the sizes whenever they feel like.

Devi horns can be any colour you choose. The most common colours are black, grey, white or purple, but any colour is acceptable. They grow from either their forehead, or top of the head.



Tails range in size and length, as well as number. Their number indicates age and strength, while length and fluffiness is just in their breeding and personal grooming habits. Some like to keep their tails long and sleek, some prefer to fluff their tails instead, some have short tails, some have long tails that drag. Fluffiness and length are subject to your personal tastes!

Number of Tails:
1-2: Uncommon - Juvenile (Age range: 0-49 years of age)**
3-4: Common - Young Adult (Age range: 50-249 years of age)**
5-6: Rare - Adult (Age range: 250-499 years of age)**
7-8: Legendary - Mystic (Age range 500+ years of age)**
9: Epic - Sage (Age range 700+ years of age)**

**Age Ranges are approximate for Maturity and Ageing. It is possibly for a Kamitsune younger than 250 to have 5 or even 6 tails if they work hard enough, or one younger than 500 to have 8 or 9 tails. It really all depends on how dedicated to their studies are. However, it is expected, that by their 250th year that they have reached their 5th tail as their coming of age into Adulthood, and anyone over the age of 500 is expected to have no less than 8 tails, as it is a sign of their age, wisdom and power.

Additionally, sometimes an Adult or older may only have 1 or 2 tails as they simply do not care for the studies needed to earn new tails. These adults more often than not prefer Rune tattooing instead to gain new powers. Rune tattoos can be acquired here: fav.me/dbqztxr


Aside from their natural form, there are two additional forms they can shift into without using up Spell Slots. The first is a small fox-like creature. While this form does have wings, it cannot fly, rather this form is specifically for speed, stealth and general cuteness. These forms are revered by humans and seen as an immense blessing if one should actually catch sight of a Kamitsune in this form. Humans even go so far as to leave offerings out in hopes of catching a glimpse of one of these creatures and earning it's sacred blessing.

The second form is a human form. Not all Kamitsune opt to learn this shape, but there are many who do like to mingle and walk around the human world, learning and interacting with them. They look entirely human save for elongated nails, small fangs and slit pupils, and by default they tend to walk on their toes, but no one has ever seemed to comment on them.

Both of these fall under the "Shape Shift I" spell, and does NOT need to be counted on your Spell list as it does not take up a spell slot. Shape Shift II allows the Kamitsune to take FULL human guise, and must take up a spell slot.



Very rarely will they show their natural form to humans outside of feedings, and even then they try not to. They don't want humans to take an interest and attempt to locate their havens and cities. While they hold an interest in the strange species, Kamitsune tend to avoid actual contact and friendship for fear of being found out and potentially putting their world in danger.

That being said, interactions with the humans and their world is entirely up to you. There have been stories of some Kamitsune befriending Humans, and even old fairy tales of some falling in love with them. But be warned, there are also stories of war and greed, so they tend to ere on the side of caution.

A "Touched" Human is a human who has earned the trust of a Kamitsune, and has been gifted a small portion of the Kamitsune's own Essence. ( Player-wise, this means the Kamitsune must give up one of their elemental crystals to the human. ) This grants them the ability to not only see The Veil, but to cross the barrier into the Spirit World. This is very, very rarely done and most often frowned upon, typically resulting in the Kamitsune involved being shunned or shied away from. These beings do not take others in their realm lightly.




Though by all appearances they may seem similar, Devi and Angea are actually biologically quite different. The Devi biology has been so far tainted from it's original genealogy that they are no longer compatible with Angea DNA. What this means is that Devi can only breed with Devi and Angea can only breed with Angea. A union of the two subspecies is, at this point in their technology, completely impossible. Scientists on both sides have been studying this mystery for countless centuries but so far have not been able to crack the genetic codes and produce a successful hybrid. All tests to date have resulted in failure.

Additionally, Kamitsune are unable to breed with any other species** outside their own, though that certainly doesn't stop them from trying! ((**please note that this species is currently not open to other species and their worlds. Should you wish for your Kamitsune to have a relationship with another Closed Species or your own species, you may, however it will be considered AU and not within the world I have built for the Kamitsune. This may change in the future as the species grows and I talk with other Species owners. But for now, please respect my creation as is. <3 ))

Gestation time for all Kamitsune (Angea and Devi alike) is 5 months. Due to their inherent magical nature, they develop more quickly in the womb than your typical human, but are carried and born just the same as a human.

Births are fairly painless, and infants are born without wings, and in the cases of Devi, without horns. Wings develop around the time the infant begins to learn to walk, and horns start to come in around puberty.

All Kamitsune babies are born with one tail. Additional tails are earned as they age and through the study of their magics.



Kamitsune survive and feed off of Emotions, harvested from other creatures. Essence is seen as an aura by the Kamitsune and it is an actual tangible thing to them, similar to a thick cloud like membrane in look, that surrounds all beings. Methods of feeding varies. Some simply collect and store the Essence in specialized and customized phylacteries, using a personalized gesture or spell phrase they come up with for later and slower consumption, meaning they don't need to go out and feed as often while some will feed right then and there via drawing the Essence directly into their bodies to get an immediate boost.
