World of Myths Chp.4

Bolverkr: “Where the hell did you get that book.”

Bolverkr bit his lip, his eyelids drooping and tapped his fingers against the table.

Bolverkr: “That’s the book the demons were looking for. If any one of those demons were left alive, they would tattle tale to their “oh so strong leader”. After that, this place would be flooded and we could have been killed right on the spot. I think I deserve a “Thank you” .”

Bolverkr: “Bite me, you weren’t there to help him, I’m pretty sure he screamed loud enough for the entire forest to hear.”

Einarr looks down in defeat, his eyes slightly closed and watered up, shivers running down his spine, hands shake uncontrollably, the sensation of disappointment and shame overwhelmed him. He shouldn't have left Calder on his own, with doubts and worries on his mind. Sensing the discomfort, Calder looked at Einarr, their eyes meet, His warm blue eyes gave out comfort and reassurance that it had calmed down Einarr’s emotions. He took a deep breath and his mind began to ease.

Calder:“Anyways what’s so important about this book? I mean it is created by the greatest demon hunter. But still, with Valerio dead and everything, the demons have no purpose into dwelling with his property either.”

Bolverkr clicked his tongue and looked at Calder, tilting his head with a smug look.

Bolverkr:“How much do you guys know about Valerio Trostle?”

Calder: “W-well. Before the Great Reign. He has discovered and researched nearly a million of demons and creatures, because of that, humanity was able to survive. Before, the human race was at the brink of death, none could ever defeat such monsters, the lack of knowledge and with mere human weapons, there was no chance in fighting them. But Valerio. He stood his ground and fought back. Studying and killing every single monster he could find, with the facts laid out, he gave that information to the entire world. From then on the monsters appeared less frequently and the human race prospered.”

Bolverkr laughs and it progressively gets louder, tears fell from his eyes, immediately lowering his head, wiping the tears away and calms down. He took a deep breath, slowly lifting his head with a twisted look.

Bolverkr: “I’m sure he’ll appreciate the compliment, BUT sure as hell doesn’t deserve it! You don’t even know the rest of it! You guys are just eating up the good part!”

Einarr: “Uh. Well duh! This is the only thing the whole world knows! Valerio suddenly disappeared after Great Reign ended! I call it bullshit that it happened that way!”

Calder: “Calm down Einarr. It is odd that it happened in such a way, he sure would have told someone the reason, Giving closure to the world who had looked up to him.”

Bolverkr: “Ya that’d be cute. But think about it this way. Would the world be happy knowing that he was responsible for The Great Reign?”

Calder: “What? There’s no way that he was responsible. We know who did it. It was the monsters breaking through, into our world. Therefore the beginning of The Great Reign.”

Einarr: “With his growing knowledge of the the demons and monsters from the other side, he found a way to enter their world….. What was his motive to do something that jeopardize the whole human race?”

Calder tilts his head as he notices the blood in Bolverkr’s hands, he had been gripping his hands so hard it drew blood. Bolverkr notices, watching it drip down from his hands. Calder sighs and looked at Bolverkr sympathetically.

Bolverkr: “….Anything that drives you to pursue something you so desire…. blinds you from any circumstances….”

Bolverkr: “Pffft… it doesn’t matter anymore though. What he had done is unforgivable. Even though he was never able to get his answer. Valerio came in so close to the demon world, but was stopped by this one person, I didn’t know what to think, just by the mere sight of them, it was simply indescribable…”

Bolverkr: “Erm….. the only thing that stood out was this silver-like mist, I could barely see anything…. Other than that, there was this very dim blue light that they casted… it shot out faster than an arrow and pierced through anything it came in contact with. Didn't see any bow or a quiver on this person….”

Bolverkr: “I have no idea, everything after that is a blur…..“

Calder: “Yes…. it would seem so. From this faint description, it already sends chills down my spine.”

Calder: “Perhaps, we’ll just be aware of what may come our way.”

Calder: “I know that… I have to.”

Bolverkr smiles ear to ear and hugs Calder tightly from behind, who looks back at him with a very disgusted look.
