WildC.A.T.s - Zealot

Happy Tuesday, folks!

It's sometimes hard to realise how old you're getting when you're living as fast as we do these days. Deadlines, projects, a family and so on make stopping to consider the notion a bit complicated. However, being the geek that I am for comics, they always manage to bring me back some perspective on things and such is the case with Jim Lee's WildC.A.T.s.

It's hard to believe it's been almost 25 years since the first issue was published and I remember growing up with Image Comics as a sort of beacon of what my career would be when I grew up. Lee's style and influence pretty much permeated me all through my teen years and I still remember the flashy covers and the incredibly awkward anatomy with fondness Particularly the different suit designs. Up until that point, all the classic characters I liked had the one costume you could identify them with. But Image changed all of that and their creations could have as many different iterations as variant covers they could put out  
Of course, I grew up and turned a critical eye on my childhood fascination with these characters. But nothing will take away from em the fact that I still like them and wished I could have a pass at them at some point in the future. So, seems the time's come thanks to my clients and their own memories of those days.

This might become a series, if I have the time to do something more than this long-overdue assignment. I think there's a lot of potential to my applying my style to Lee's designs, wouldn't you say?

I hope there are some old fossils like myself out there who will appreciate the beautiful and deadly Zealot, the pinnacle of the Kherubim fighter against the Daemonites.
