Seungmin is an incredible actor. In the presence of others, he's well put together, someone to go to for advice. He's trustworthy, honest, and easy to get along with, despite the occasional snark and/or theatrics. As soon as he closes his office for the day and changes into something 'more comfortable', Seungmin becomes a different person. When alone or around those he trusts, Seungmin is, in short...a mess. In his pursuit to improve the lives of his people, he's a workaholic, often getting into such long lasting sessions of inspiration that he often forgets to eat, shower, clean his office. He takes care of himself about as well as a spoiled child takes care of their toys, which is to say....not very well. It doesn't help that he sees no issue with treating his body in such a way. Which is increasingly odd, seeing as he constantly seems to be nagging others for their issues with health, wellness, et cetera. For those that don't know him well, especially his patients, Seungmin pretends to feign being aloof, but will ask how they are with surprising need. Did you brush your teeth? Have you eaten today? What did you eat? These questions and more to make sure that he has a proper gauge on his loved ones' health. The fact that he is so lax with his own health to the point of seemingly not caring, but worries so much for others pretty much makes him a hypocrite.

In reality, Sungmin...does not like himself very much. While beautiful (when he tries to be), if one were to ask him to point out his flaws, the list would be miles long. Hair's too much, body's too flabby, tailfeathers always sit wrong, can't ever do his makeup properly on the first try. Even if someone were to counter one of his flaws with something positive, Seungmin would always find something else. He's somewhat convinced that he's just not good enough for things like affection and self care as others, so it often surprises him when people show him any concern.

Seungmin was born in a large household, as the first of three children. When he was born, Seung had already been tasked with somewhat sparse living conditions, considering he'd been the fifth body in the household. For the first five years, it didn't seem bad for him. His parents taught him how to read and write, his grandparents gave him snacks and told him stories when they could afford. They all praised him, and made him feel special, as any child would. But time passes. People get old, things change. When he was six, Seung's mother had gotten pregnant, and all attention was on her to make sure the baby was delivered healthy. At almost seven years, Seungmin was proud to be a big brother. At first, he didn't mind it, sharing a room with his new baby brother. He didn't mind that stories were told to him less and less. Seungmin didn't even mind being asked to share his snacks with his brother. He didn't mind, when at eight, his parents grew colder whenever he didn't do so well during their lessons, and colder still when he'd asked for 'too much' help. It was to teach him 'independence', and he didn't mind. And he still didn't mind when his grandparents' age began catching up with them shortly before his second brother was born at nine. Seungmin never minded, as long as he could get the praise that he received when he was younger. The stress of it all didn't matter, in the end.

As he grew, the chances for that praise seemed to grow slimmer as his parents grew more and more critical of his successes. Mixing medicines and referencing the proper notes no longer impressed them, though a grasp of biology and the effects of the medicines he made on a person's body did. Being able to discern exactly what was ailing his brothers, as well as finding a way to fix it as quickly as possible impressed them. In a bid to further impress his parents, he began studying medicine at sixteen. Improving upon the knowledge his parents taught him when he was young definitely
impressed them. His parents encouraged his study, and Seungmin poured himself into it, graduating from school at twenty. At twenty-one, Seungmin furthered his studies as an intern in Agate City. At twenty-four, he'd received his license to become a doctor and moved into his own home, as well as office in Citrine City. His hard work paid off. Seungmin's parents were proud of their genius son, and he'd received the accolades he so desperately wanted.

Some months ago, during a visit home, Seungmin's grandmother taught him something new. A simple healing spell. Though, it was much, much less spectacular than the magic she told him stories about. She recounted one in particular, explaining that before their family fully learned the way of medicine and concoctions, they were healers and mages. In the advent of the coming prophecy, she felt it a good idea to introduce her grandson to the old family practice, hoping that his diligence would stand to teach him better than she could, seeing as she focused more on medicine herself. Fascinated by the notion of reviving an old family practice, and doing it well, Seungmin has recently taken to finding as much information about healing magics as he can find.

At the moment, Seungmin attempts to make a name for himself as a doctor as well as do more research on being a better (or at least passable...) healer. Unfortunately, the latter of the two goals is a bit far-fetched for now. He'll get it, eventually...
