Star Mares 3.3.14: Lost in Translation

Even when speaking the same language (or with the aid of magical universal translators), meanings can get muddled.  I often find that people don't understand me when I say perfectly straightforward things.

On that note, I'm not entirely happy with the way this came out - it isn't at all obvious that Cookiecutter's "I'll smite you if--" is a response to Avahi's fear in the previous panel that if they don't prostrate themselves, she'll smite them.  It would be perfectly clear if it were spoken, but the written medium doesn't really allow for conveying that information.  (The rest of the lemurs' lines are superfluous - anything important gets repeated by the ponies.)

For those trying to transliterate, sometimes the lemurs' text columns are read right-to-left and sometimes left-to-right: Inkscape changed the way it handled vertical text between versions 0.91 and 0.92, and I upgraded partway through this issue (and then downgraded, and then upgraded again).  It's not a major issue for me because I don't actually intend for you to read them, but I know some of you are gluttons for punishment and are going to do it anyway.

It may seem a bit presumptive of Cookiecutter to be calling herself a princess when she's only two-thirds of the way there, but Luke called himself a Jedi Knight with about as much legitimacy (possibly even less, given that he didn't magically acquire extra limbs as part of his training).  And it just occurred to me that while I was trying to imply that it was actually Discord giving her wings rather than a normal alicorn apotheosis, it could just as easily have been him preventing her from getting the whole package (which actually seems far more in character, if you think about it).
