And I bring to you a very much belated Secret Santa gift that's just...Almost half a year overdue. Go me. Holy damn.
Not so much surprise Nix! I was your secret santa, please forgive me for the terrible lateness and I hope you still like your gift!
And since I seem unable to draw happy things for secret santa- Mia gets to have a sad evening of reminiscing about lost Ethus. I can imagine it might be the place where she feels closest to those she's lost, hence how I arrived at this prompt.

I really wanted to try some more extreme lighting, the choice being between fire punch and zap canon even though neither move would be accurately portrayed. I honestly had a whole headcanon thought out when I started this- but I'm ashamed to say I completely forgot what it was and why she is imbuing her sword with electricity- aside from the fact that it just looks cool- 
I actually wonder whether maybe she's doing this while contemplating whether she would still like to be a knight or not. I haven't rpd in a long time but the final few bits of rp seemed to indicate she was helping people out more without the use of her blade, but perhaps the thought of letting that profession -and her sword- go would imply letting go of the people she's been robbed of, too.

Her expression was a big challenge- and so was the shift from my old laptop to my new one!
This screen displays everything a lot darker and warmer/more saturated and I'm honestly terrified that it will mess up my art something fierce- like my old laptop screen did. How has nobody ever told me before that my pictures were so dark and saturated?? I didn't intend/paint them that way!
To be fair some of them ended up way cooler because of it but most just kindof lost a ton of detail xD 

So I'm curious- how does this picture show for everyone? 
It was started on my old laptop hence it's still quite dark (for my new laptop anyway), but I sure hope there's no weird blue smudges in the darkest areas, because that's how my old laptop is displaying this picture. And most people I asked said they see the pic most resembling that- I might make a poll on this hmm...

anyway I hope it shows nicely on peoples' screens and that you enjoy it Nix!
