The World

Like every digimon season you live in the world around you, with every continent and city in the right place. Nothing has changed in the time of this story except for one thing, the little friends that you have - Digimon! Everyone has their own story with the digital monsters; some popped out of their TVs while others jumped out of mobiles phones. They have become a part of everyday life for those chosen to carry the name of “Digidestined”, but are not known widely by everyone in the world. Many events in recent history can be attributed to digimon, both good and bad. In turn this also means that not all digidestined are sunshine and rainbows.

However heroes are still needed to keep the peace between those digital and the living. This is where you come in, fellow digidestined! You are part of an online group called DigiDestined.com, along with countless others of your kind across the globe. The site is used by fellow digidestined to share their encounters with the digital kind, and work together to make the world a better place. Nowadays the website has become a social network and information platform for both those new and old to Digimon.
While its origins are not to well known, it was first developed in the early 2015, and has been used ever since.

Digimon themselves also showed up around 1998, as the use of internet became even more widely available. This began to open the gap between the digital world and ours, causing openings or “Gates” to appear all over the world. These gates could appear anywhere from anything, and were not just limited to digital devices. It is said that a large scale disappearance happened in 2013 and 2014 thanks to these portals - with young adults being involved in a large scale digital tournament.

Digitravel 101: The World and you!

One of the many features that the website boasts is the ability to travel across the world via the gates. They allow quick travel from anywhere in the world to anyone who has a digivice and another electronic device to access the website. This is because the signals used to transport the user only works from codes inside a digivice. A similar method is used to transport to the digital world, however due to unstable gates it is hard to do so. The downside is that a digidestined is only able to transport via gates that are open, which are set up by other digidestined and the administrators of the site.

Normally groups of digidestined band together when reports come in, and travel through this method to help areas of the world in need.

Whats happening now?

Digimon activity has become much more common - catching the eyes of even the more of the public. Additionally an influx of new digidestined have appeared on the site, offering their help to the wider community, as well as freelancing for towns and cities which have problems with monsters. You and your digimon partner must work together to help protect the world from the critters that cause trouble and create a steady peace between this world and theirs.

DMCU - Digital Monster Containment Unit 

The DMCU is a privately funded agency that work to protect the world from some of the larger digital threats that happen around the world. They work directly with DigiDestined.com in handing out missions to do while they work on the more hardcore, dangerous missions. In addition, they are responsible for holding community events and overall helping digidestined reach their full potential. Every digidestined will have met with the DMCU at least once, whether it be on a mission or event. Interviews are regularly held with digidestined to make sure they are on track, and aren't up to anything devious that would threaten the security and secrecy of the digidestined or digimon themselves.

While you are not directly working under them as a DMCU “operative”, there may be a time where you must work together to protect our world. Currently there are around 45 DMCU operatives currently stationed; ranging from top of the line scientists to brave on ground heroes.
