As a number of my figure sculptures were broken during the storm a month ago (more on that later...), I've set out to re-do some of my favorites. Of course, there's always the tension between trying to exactly reproduce the original, and trying to expand on the idea which the original grew out of. And then, there's trying to push the technical boundaries. This piece is around twice as big as the first "Listening" sculpture, which adds to the technical challenge, but gives me some freedom to rework some of the finer details. (For scale, that's a 1-foot square board she's sitting on.)
