{ Genji is photosynthetic- he absorbs sunlight through his skin and hair and converts that into photokinetic energy. His ability works best during daytime and as a result of it, he tends to wake at dawn and get sleepy at dusk- he is very much 'solar powered.' His hair grows at an incredible rate as a result of his power (much like fast-growing bamboo) and after a particularly heated battle he'll probably be falling over it. His head and hair does most of the absorbing of sunlight, so you could render him pretty weak by shaving his skull. }

He charges the air in his palm with photokinetic energy, creating a plasma ball. It burns when it hits an object, and glows brightly. He can send it spinning out pretty fast, making it hard to dodge, though he does need to see where he's aiming and it doesn't bend around corners well.
Requires charge time; he is much faster to charge this attack in the daylight, and a lot slower at night.

Cooldown | Limitations:
During the middle of the day he can make a dozen attacks this way without getting too worked up, but at night or indoors, he'd be a lot more drained and start to run out of energy with a relentless attack.

Surrounded in a glowing nimbus of photokinetic energy, Genji is lifted off the ground, achieving light-travel (hahaha)- in the form of flight. Again, he moves pretty fast with this skill, but it is pretty showy, obvious, and impossible to stealth.

Cooldown | Limitations:
Aside from an inability to 'sneak up flying' on anyone, he tries to avoid this at night unless he intends to make an entrance as there's the problem of being the only torch in a dark place. He gets exhausted very quickly with this at night and movement in this state has caused him to hit a wall if he doesn't focus on where he's going because his speed can exceed his reaction time.

Genji's hair stands on end- snaking up into the air above his head to maximise photosynthesis, his hair turns stark white, as energy is transfered through his body in a rapid manner, causing his muscles to expand and adding kinetic force to any punch or physical attack.

Cooldown | Limitations:
He cannot maintain this state for more than a minute or so; and activating it depletes his energy rapidly, and can lead to a coma or even death if he pushes himself beyond the energy that he has absorbed. He avoids using this skill for that reason.

Background:
                      Childhood: They say that those born with a silver spoon in their mouth have all the advantages in life. Genji is the only child of a wealthy plastic surgeon and a popular pop idol singer. His mother (Keiko), the surgeon, is very popular and appeared on plenty of talk-shows; promoting body-image books and diet fads, living as a 'knowledgable celebrity'. his father (Ryuusuke) was a happy-go-lucky pop idol. They spent very little time at home and even less time with their only son. Genji spent his early years over-achieving in school, desperately chasing any form of praise or acknowledgment of his existence from either parent. He was left to fend for himself many nights before he was even six and the feeling of invisibility and hostility to figures of affection grew. His only form of recognition from his parents was when his school mandated they pay attention. School became somewhere that he could see those cold, distant figures. Doing well meant they would pay more attention to him.

                      Adolescence: Aside from being a fundamentally lonely child, and feeling a deep disconnect with the world around him, Genji never left much of an impression on other children. He was invited to a few birthday parties, but was never close friends or enemies with anyone. He wasn't particularly picked on for his quirk, and generally didn't take issue with any other children all that much. Most other people his age, he regards jealously for their relationships with their parents.

                      Early Academy Life: Genji is a model student, with fantastic grades and perfect attendance. He completes all his homework early, or in a timely fashion and doesn't get into trouble with other students. His parents pay his school fees and he competes average in sporting events. Overall, he is somewhat of an average face for most of the teachers- the sort of student that doesn't stand out much and doesn't provoke them to drink. His family and good grades make him an ideal candidate for SNA, and Genji aimed for the best of the best school and placement he could achieve. His parents were quite proud when he recieved a placement and immediately bought him a few spare uniforms as a reward.

Personality:
        Easy-going back-of-the-classroom: There are plenty of folk who know Genji, some might even know his first name, but he never gets close to most of them.  He isn't on amazing terms with anyone and nor is he on bad terms with anyone; he keeps it polite and distant for the most part. He doesn't want to be hurt or abandonned, so he stays walled off.

        Closet Obsessive: Masahiro is one thing and that is needy. He's the sort to really obsess over a person if they give him enough attention- he probably wouldn't tell them or confess to the object of his fixation because he has little idea how to deal with people emotionally. He's a bit stunted in that regard and as a result, he will go overboard if he does form any meaningful relationships.

        Morning Person: most would call this a flaw, but Genji's power and solar cycle tend to be very engrossed in the solar calendars. He wakes at dawn, every day like clockwork. He does strength and muscle workouts in the morning, eats healthy breakfasts, finishes homework, gets to school on time. He's an early-bird-worm-getter. No coffee junkie, no skipping breakfast or rolling back to sleep. He is active and awake early. Being 'switched on to life' like this has its advantages- Genji has good self-control and lifestyle.

        Seed of Bitterness: There's a lot of missed love and hugs in Genji's mind- a teen slowly brooding and brewing the usual angst cocktails, but also someone that if pushed away often enough, abandonned often enough or experiencing loss might end up straying from good and into the territory of villainy.
