Featuring: Boona and Enif

Brief Cameo from an Npc BW stag

Year- 768 Autumn of the NA

Location: Blackwood, Outskirts of Shadowgrove

Enif:

It felt as though spirits nipped at his heels as he departed from the grove. The night before they'd whispered in his ears, hounding his sleep, saying sweet beautiful things. Things he'd only wished for in the depths of his heart. But today after he'd made his way to the sacred grounds they'd silenced and he'd been left standing alone, feeling quite foolish.

It was then he felt a prickling between his shoulder blades, a sensation only brought on by eyes set upon his back, did he decide to return to the safety of the herd with haste. Since the skies had darkened, and the winds had cooled Enif had begun to feel the sensation more than usual. And so for exactly that matter he'd begun traveling alone less and sticking with the herd more. It seemed the only time he felt safe. He'd even momentarily left the comfort of his den to sleep among the others who preferred torts of Widow’s Hollow.

It didn't hinder his work as soldier in the least. In fact Enif was probably performing the best he ever had. But perhaps the very present rut also had something to do with that. The last of the velvety black felt had been scrapped from his rack and the grullo had already set about sharpening the curling tines into deadly points. His temper had also begun to flare leading to more than few tussles. He'd no intention of pursuing any particular does…but if one happened to show interest-

A resounding crack sounded through the massively tall pines. Enif’s heavy head swiveled to the source. His white laced eyes caught shadows dancing in the distance. Odd. Usually there would be at least be three. Two for the stags brawling and one for the doe assessing. Sometimes more, other stags waiting for their turn or a curious bystander such as himself. Perhaps two stags simply had a disagreement? Tension always ran high between his fellow testosterone filled males this time of year. Nevertheless Enif kicked his legs out and dashed to the scene. A fight was a fight, and he wanted to watch!

Boona:

((oh what if Boona actually ended up killing the npc stag ? Because she is a murder :3 it’d make her more wanted to be hunted down.))

For weeks the doe had lingered in the Blackwood territory after a few trips to both Glenmore and Silverthorne. The trips there reminded her of how much she hated her native land and she remembered why she stayed away from the fire wielders as she glanced to the small burn on her withers, nothing serious just something that smarted.

Boona hated to admit it but she found it strange how she preferred the darken home of the blackwoods compared to the other lands. Whether these fawnlings were evil like the stories about them foretold she felr at home here and found that she rather enjoyed the ‘company' of a few of the residents. One in particular had managed to caught her eye, the reason why baffled her and she found herself coming up with nothing when asked as to why she had kept him alive.

And she wasn’t about to admit it but she’d been rather stalker like as of late, always following him about, making him glance over his shoulder at every moment. He was smart too because as of now she also couldn’t find a well enough reason to keep him alive except that she liked his face. Strange how things worked like that.

Boona was retiring for the day, heading back to her hole in the ground that was her den to rest, the lights from the sun beginning to tire and hurt her eyes. She snorted softly as she felt at her grown out tusk, the five inch long canines were just as strong as antlers and she found them more useful as well.

“Why hello , Miss. You must be new here, i haven’t seen you in the herd before.” A voice said, stepping out from the bushes as a stag showed himself, dark as could be and just as unwanted.

“I have no time for a thick head stag such as yourself. I suggest you leave my sight, love before I cut you like a fish.” She said shaking out her long mane, lifting her feathered hooves up in an elegant prance.

“Oh come on, a lovely doe such as yourself. I can hardly find you as threatenin-” The stag was cut short as Boona snapped her hooves into the stags throat, whipping herself around as her head lower, an almost growl sounding from her. The stag stared wide eyes before starting to retreat, the doe sprung on fast hooves as she lept at stag, sinking her tusks into his shoulder while trying to pull him back. The stag bleated in pain while thrashing at her with his antlers.

Enif:

Sliding up to the action his ears immediately pinned to his skull as he realized what was happening.… Or what he assumed was happening. All he saw was a  large stag floundered at a smaller doe, blood flowing down his shoulders while the doe wove around him blood running down her own hide, though her coat did spark recent memory…

“If she's not interested she's not interested!” He growled before leaping forward and broadsiding the thick stag. He hadn't had time to waste on aimless thought, a doe was in a predicament and he could not stand for that.

A long tine pierced the dark hide sinking into his shoulder. Another scream of pain rose in the air as Enif ripped his head back abruptly. The stag would be in pain, but if he was smart he walk away from this. Enif moved forward and shoved again this time with the tip of his nose. The stag stumbled aside and murmured a weak curse.

Taking the opportunity Enif turned to the doe, “Are you oka- BOONA?!” His eyes widened with surprise at the appearance of the slim dark pelted doe. Of all she was the last he had expected to show up. Subconsciously he took a step back, the scars of his last encounter with the fanged female still present on his hide.

Boona:

She was perfectly capable of bring down this stag by herself. She’d done so many times before and just when she had been about to deliver a killing bite the stag was shoved away by a dark pelt, catching her off guard as she leapt back. Much like him she was bewildered as to what he was doing here and what was he doing trying to ‘save' her?

Her eyes went to the injured stag as she bared her fangs at him, sending him limping off as she glared. “Away with you beast, I do not want or seek your attentions. Your lucky your fellow stag, shoved you away at the last minute.” she sighed happily. “i would have gladly ended you.” Boona said turning her head hair, tail raised sassily as she gracefully walk away.

“It’s a pity though your fellow blackwood so ignorantly injured you. It’s a pity really.”

The injured stag glared to Enif before limping off leaving the two alone before Boona bashed into blackened stag, a laugh rising up from her. “you save me the trouble of hunting you down, instead you came to me. How perfect.”

Enif:

Damn. There was no doubt she still remembered their last encounter. And there was no doubt she'd come to collect on that promise she'd made so long ago. Tough shit. Enif wasn't ready to die nor was he willing to limp back to Widow’s Hollow to tell his friends he let a renegade whoop his tail.

Enif snorted and turned his body parallel to hers while flexing his neck. The hormones already pumping throughout his body made his eyes glint with a primal excitement and the shove from the fanged doe only fueled him more. There was no reasoning with Boona, that he had already learned. But action, that got her attention. He had no intention causing serious injury, unlike her. But perhaps by giving her a good thrashing she'd learn to pick fights with another stag.

A quick circling of tails turned into a spiral of teeth and hooves. Enif tried to launch himself forward to latch onto her tail but the doe proved much too fast. So instead Enif slammed to a halt and braced himself for the impact. All while he slung his head so his sharp prongs could meet does oncoming legs.

Boona:

Boona had charged in, preparing to slam into the stag again and land a good bite. But she was caught off guard by the swipe of his antlers, catching her legs and causing the doe to fall, scraping her knees as she got up. Her dark eyes gleamed with hate and a small amount of respect, but she didn’t give up so easily. She darted up, ignoring the pain in her knees as she darted around stag, landing small kicks to his rump that would hopefully irritate him. If she could get him to lose his focus she might get the upper hand. But a thought crossed her mind as she debated if she actually wanted to hurt him, she had plenty of opportunities before...times when he was completely unaware of her presence. She could have ended him.

But she didn’t so why had she? Was she losing her touch? Was the stag playing some sort of dark magic on her? Boona did have to admit she he impressed her, she wasn’t sure why, he had managed to escape her times before. Most stags that she met didn’t last with her.

“Have you healed yet from our last fight , little one? Are you ready to receive more?” she said with a smile, lunging again.

Enif:

“Fairly well Lady Boona, have you?” He was cut off as her body slammed into his. Their bodies grappled for a second, Boona’s slim build pulsed with power but Enif was practically built of stone. He entertained her efforts for a moment before shoving her off.

While she was busy gathering herself Enif took the brief second to take a breath. She certainly was stronger than the last time they'd battled! His rump stung, though he couldn't quite place why. Sweat began to run down his neck despite the cool fall winds.

Looking back to the doe a small smoke slipped onto his lips. Despite claiming to being using her best effort the dark doe seemed to be holding back. He didn't know why for Uir’s sake! But he'd never admitted to being a stag that could read a doe’s mind. And Boona was no ordinary mind at that.

Boona:

She laughed. “I have been doing well, better since coming back to Blackwood.I find this place suits my persona, the residents aren’t too bad either, some tend to be troublesome and others don’t succumb to my fangs as quickly as I’d like.” she said with a small grin. “Though I must agree you have greatly improved since our last meeting, you’ve grown more stout, I almost couldn’t knock you back.” Boona stated before snapping at him, flashing her tusks as she dodged a blow from his antlers.

Lucky enough to dodge his horns she wasn’t lucky enough to miss his swift kick from his hindquarters, the kick causing her own hind to tense and throb from the kick. She limped softly before turning to laugh at the stag. “Nice kick.” using her front hoof she pawed at the ground. “Your turn pretty boy.”

Enif:

He raised a brow. Pretty boy? That was a first. Enif curled his neck and circled Boona suddenly acutely aware of his battle scuffed coat.

She certainly wasn't an undesirable doe, with her pelt that reminded him of the dark rich earth that he seldom got to see outside of spring and summer. And her fangs accented the wry smile that always crossed her lips fairly well. But…no this was just another of Boona’s tricks. He wasn't going to fall into her hooves like a blind fool.

Enif tossed his head sending his wavy thick locks flying. Some strands fell across his rack making him look a bit foolish but the stag hardly payed that any mind.

“Not doing so bad yourself, all these young bucks must be good practice.” She must've been staying in the dark wood for a while, the realization struck him as he spoke. Her sides had gone more gaunt, but her eyes seemed to flicker more intensely in the shade of the canopy. Blackwood did suit her well.

Boona:

“Oh you wouldn’t believe the practice they give me , at times they have began to grow boresome.” She said as as her tail twitched as she circled the stag, her eyes remaining trained on her target as she smiled. “So I suppose it was a good idea that I ran into you, I needed something to up my skills.” She said through clenched teeth, suddenly she leapt at him again. The doe changed up her strategy as she snapped her jaws at his legs, a bite to the leg by one of her tusks was a horrible injury as the dull tooth would have to rip through the muscling and if lucky wouldn’t hit the bone.

Dodging back it was indeed easy to see the doe had lost weight but strangely enough it suited her. Yup , Boona had a sort of wispiness to her now that made her almost a bit scarier. But even with the weight loss that came from being within Blackwood she still was a attractive doe none the less, well that was if one liked there does dark.

“Your a strong enough stag, I will joyfully watch as you perish at my tusks.”

Enif:

Just as the final word had passed her lips Enif lunged, his leg bleeding but intact. That had hurt, and now he was pissed. As his broad chest collided with her smaller body he felt nothing but pleasure as the little doe was rocketed back by his force, though he doubted the pain compared. An angry snort tore forth, perhaps now Boona realized that he was no stag to toy with. Though again, he doubted it.

As the dust cleared his chest heaved while he greedily gulped for air. Sweat trickled down his eyes and foamed on his neck and blood ran from various wounds on his gaunt body. He was beaten to hell. It was only by Uir’s will that he hadn't inflicted the same damage to her. After this fight she wouldn't have a herbalist to limp to, she'd have none but herself. And he couldn't leave a daughter to such a fate? Could he? It wasn't as if he and his rack couldn't cut her down and leave her to bleed her last on the forest floor. He’d done it before, but to a stag, one who'd given him little choice at that.

But it was something else. Something other than that, which kept him tethered to the battle worn soil as she collected herself. Was it…that he favored the unstable doe in some way? But how could he? She was a murderer, and an antagonizer to boot. Yet there was something. Every time the doe shot him that fanged smile he couldn't help but feel his heart flutter a bit.

No! This was nonsense. Even if he had a small affection for the doe it meant nothing. She was quite intent with seeing him fall lifeless at her hooves. And while he lived to please, does especially, he wasn't willing to go that far.

So instead he lowered his rack, and waited for her next charge, from whatever angle it might come.

Boona:

Shaking from the force of his charge she snorted back as she inhaled sharply to catch her breath. Shaking her mane as she looked towards the stag, her own breathing had become heavy as her legs began to shake. And as she felt her hate for stags grow stronger for whatever reason she lifted her head , smiling her toothy grin as she smirked. Instead of attacking the stag like she normally would have done she passed him, her tail swishing against his face as she smirked.

“You did well….for a stag anyway. You’ll do good for this rut.” She said swishing her tail as she walked away. “Are you coming or will you just stand there like an idiot?”

Enif:

Had lightning struck? Had there been poison on her tusk? A wild hallucination seemed more likely than…this.

Yet as her slender body passed his he felt his hooves picking up, moving to pursue. Perhaps he was an idiot, following a doe who'd just been trying to kill him. But consequences be damned!

Enif tossed his head letting his glossy black mane fall freely while ramping up to a trot. Boona wouldn't wait on him forever.
