Passing of the Spirit

I tried to make one of those skull illusion type pictures in Walfas.
Naturally, I chose someone associated with death to be the subject.
Fun fact: the Lycoris flower is associated with death and the afterlife in Chinese and Japanese folklore. The only reason I know this is because I looked it up on Google after noticing that Lycoris was a vanilla Walfas prop, and wondering why that specific flower was there. I wanted to use flowers for the upper edge of the skull, and it was a fortunate coincidence that Lycoris had that association.

It should be noted that this isn't technically an edit, as I didn't use an outside image editor other than to compile the screenshots. That just goes to show how much can be done with the power of CreateX. Hats off to rsg for that... I mean, not that I was wearing a hat, but... anyway...
Since I haven't done any actual Walfas edits, I was curious as to whether anyone had any ideas. Where would be a good place to start for someone with highly questionable artistic abilities?
