Wait... - Art RP 10

Kuroda looked at Sameko sideways, wondering if she was okay in such darkness. She nudged a bit closer to him as they walked, looking at him in return and giving him a small smile. "Are you okay?" Kuroda asked. She nodded, insisting that she was fine, just like she had said in the cave all that time ago, just like she always did even if he could see that she was scared. But she was courageous, and faced her fear anyway. And he wanted nothing more than to help her face every fear.

As they walked on Kuroda got to thinking, thinking about Sameko... and thinking about them. They had done so much together over these past many months since they had become friends. She was his best friend, in fact, and had been for some time. Every time he looked at her he felt such a rush of affection. And every time he left to go home after a day spent with her he felt empty, already looking forward to when the sun would rise and they could see each other again. And sometimes... he couldn't help but want more.

He looked back at her, how the moonlight hit her skin and reflected beautifully in her gentle blue eyes. She was the most incredible girl in the whole pond.... Maybe she felt his staring, or may she just happened to look over, but when their eyes met something took over Kuroda, a brave and crazy and reckless feeling that he sometimes felt stirring, but had always squashed. This time he didn't squash it. He knew what he wanted and his mind was long made up, so what was he waiting for?

Before he knew what he was doing he stepped in front of Sameko abruptly, stopping them both. "Sameko, wait... I have to tell you something. Before we get to Raven's, with all the crowds and the shouting..." he hadn't even prepared what he would say to her... he didn't think this would happen this way. But he was already going, and he couldn't bare to stop now. "I... really care about you. In fact, I would do anything for you. You're my best friend. Your smile is my waking dream. Your voice the sweetest song. You are my whole..." he stopped talking then. What was he going to do from here? Just blurt it out? He was a Mais of grand gestures, of song and poetry and expression! Was he just going to say something so important? Even with such a flowery prelude he just couldn't do it like that!

No. She deserved better. He let out a sigh, closing his eyes as he concentrated. He had made up many songs for Sameko in the past, some he had even sang without her knowing they were for her, either not including her name in the song or keeping it vague enough. But it was time to break out one he had been holding on to... one that's inspiration is very clear. He wasn't expecting to do this, so he didn't have his keytar to accompany him, but there was no time but right now to finally let it all out! He took a small step back, and then he sang.

"Oh Sameko, how could I've known when I met you long ago,
That you would be all my eyes can see, a real life fantasy.
So Sameko, if you should go, to distant ponds a flow-ing,
Your silver hue, your heart so true, let me always follow you."

'Man that sounds... so much better with my keytar.' Kuroda realized, far too late. He looked at her when he finished, a hopeful but shy and frantically nervous expression on his face. His heart felt like it would burst and his bioluminescence had never glowed so brightly.

"Sameko...will you... be with me?"
