Welcome to BeyArMaMo 2017!
It's time once again to break out your pens, pencils, craft boxes and your passionate BeyFeels to celebrate the joy of Beyblade throughout October. This year, quite remarkably, is actually the 10th BeyArMaMo Event. It's a real testament to the continuing love of Beyblade that this challenge has been enjoyed each year since 2008 for a show that ended way back in 2003. It's been nearly 14 years since the final episode of G Revolution aired during its original run and yet here we still are.
This year's event will follow the same formula as in previous years with various challenge types so that even those of us with really limited time can still participate. You can find all of the guidelines for this year below and, as always, if there's anything you're not sure of please don't hesitate to ask.
The BeyArMaMo challenge requires participants to artistically celebrate the awesome of the Bakuten Shoot Beyblade anime throughout the whole of October. There are three different challenge types with the more involved requiring you to create a piece of Bakuten Shoot Beyblade-related art every day while the easiet type requires you to create only a single piece of artwork. The full details of the challenges can be found below:
BeyArMaMo
One piece of art every day
Total pieces of art - 31
Mini-BeyArMaMo
One piece of art per week
Total pieces of art - 4
Week 1 to be completed by Sunday 8th
Week 2 to be completed by Sunday 15th
Week 3 to be completed by Sunday 22nd
Week 4 to be completed by Tuesday 31st
Super Mini-BeyArMaMo
One piece of art only
Total pieces of art - 1
There are no prizes for completing any of the BeyArMaMo 2017 challenges other than a feeling of accomplishment and the joy of celebrating Beyblade for an entire month. The event is simply a month-long personal art challenge and a way to show your love for Beyblade.
Accepted
Art featuring characters, bit beasts or beyblades from Bakuten Shoot Beyblade, Bakuten Shoot Beyblade 2002 (V Force), Bakuten Shoot Beyblade G Revolution and Bakuten Shoot Beyblade The Movie: Gekitou!! Takao vs Daichi (Fierce Battle).
All forms of art - illustrations, craft, photography, literature, etc.
Unfinished work, sketches and doodles.
Not Accepted
Art featuring characters, bit beasts or beyblades from Metal Fight, Metal Fury, Metal Masters and Shogun Steel, BeyWheelz, BeyWarriors or the Bakuten Shoot Beyblade manga.
OCs.
Mature-rated artwork.*
Ships / Pairings. *
* These rules are for submitting to the deviantArt BeyArMaMo gallery only. You may create art featuring these things during your challenge if you wish but they may not be submitted to the group gallery.
Please Note
All art must be new. You must draw new artwork each day / week of the challenge, that's what makes it a challenge. You can work from old artwork, such as taking old lineart and then colouring it during the challenge, but you cannot post artwork you completed before the start of October.
Art does not have to be submitted to the group gallery. Submissions were necessary back when there were prizes but nowadays it's completely up to you whether you upload any of your artwork or not. Though, of course, as BeyArMaMo is a celebration of Beyblade as well as an art challenge it would be wonderful if you do choose to share all those wonderful Bey things you create.
The idea is to create at least one piece of art per day throughout October, or however many are required to complete your chosen mission. Of course, if you're feeling particularly arty on any given day, you're more than welcome to create more than this.
If posting your art to social media sites such as Tumblr and Twitter please consider tagging your posts with #BeyArMaMo2017 so that people can easily follow the event.
All art submitted to the dA gallery must be posted in the appropriate challenge folder. Artwork will have to be approved before it shows up in the gallery. This is just so I can stop inappropriate art slipping through. Pieces will be approved daily so there shouldn't be much of a wait to get your artwork added to the gallery.
All art must contain Bakuten Shoot Beyblade characters. They can cosplay, reference other series or even dive into a world of crossovers, but the main focus must be Beyblade.
YOUR ART DOES NOT HAVE TO BE GOOD. This is just for fun and, obviously, not everyone is going to be able to create a masterpiece every day. Even if all you manage is a stick-Kai on the back of a tea-stained envelope, that's perfectly fine. More than fine, really.
And, finally, have fun! I can't actually enforce this rule, or even really call it a rule, but I really hope that you enjoy yourselves. Good luck, everyone!

About
The 10th Anniversary art book is a personal project I’m working on to both share my artwork from the past eleven years and to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the event in more general terms. Below is a rough idea for its layout and examples of some of its content.

The first two-thirds of the book will be split into eleven sections, o

2018 Theme List
Hiya guys!
The official theme list for 2018 is now up!
Theme days are an optional extra to help inspire or challenge you. Each day, a new theme will be posted for you to base your work on. It might be a colour or an object, a feeling or a place. You can choose to use all the themes, some of the themes or none at all. Participants in the Mini-BeyArMaMo challenge may pick any of the themes posted for each particular week.
