History: 

Born the only daughter and heir of King Cadmael and Queen Haraedla, early on, Cadhara learned the in's and out's of the position that, one day, she was destined to hold.  However, preparation did little to prepare her for the future that was laid out for her.  Due to her mother's failing mental health, Cadhara was set to be crowned Queen of Auster in the Spring of 1994 but, before the ceremony could be completed, a dark force rained on the parade.  The Shadow Army, with their Queen Enebris at the healm, overtook the Austerian forests thanks to the deception of Cadhara's very own aunt, Princess Elebrea.  Despite the efforts of the enemy to keep Cadhara in the forest, with the help of a few Austerian guard stags - Brigadier Theodore, Queen's Guard Thorne, and Queen's Guard Kelso - she was able to escape.  Although they were pursued, the escapees managed to evade the Shadow that hunted them thanks to the sacrifice of Sir Kelso who, as far as they knew, gave his life to offer them priceless time.

Kelso's sacrifice was not in vain!  Cadhara, Thorne, and Theodore managed to flee further into the Linx Mountains and soon found themselves face-to-face with the Linx Alpha himself, Alpha Alexein.  However, unlike legends often told, the Linx proved to be a kind and gentle people that welcomed the renegades into their home and taught them their culture.  Cadhara spent the winter season beneath the mountain's snows and, in the spring, bid adieu to her newfound friends. 

However, it was soon apparent that, somehow, the Shadows had learned of her location.  Shortly after leaving, Cadhara and her two remaining guards were forced to return to the Linx tunnels for safety and, of course, Alexein welcomed them.  Not long after, the Shadows laid seige upon the Linx beginning in the Spring of 1996.  When even more Austerian renegades - rescued by a former Shadow Alliance member, Padme - joined them in their tunnels, many Linx began to hold resentment toward the princess.  It wasn't until the Shadows broke through the tunnels in the Summer of 1996 that Cadhara finally gave herself up on the condition that the Shadows would leave the Linx alone to rebuild.  True to their word, the Shadows left the Linx and took Cadhara back to their Raven Queen, Enebris, in Auster.

As much as Enebris wanted to kill Cadhara then and there, it wouldn't be until the first full moon of the Winter of 1996 that Cadhara's execution was to take place.  Kelso and Rhette (another renegade Austerian guard) overheard this and immediately began to rally the Anomalous forces.  Kelso first visited the Nombeko, then his friends in the renegade herd of Sanctuary, and then the Linx in the north while Rhette plead his case to the Scybilline across the river.  While not all individuals agreed to join, many did, and it was to the Battlegrounds that they all marched.  Learning of the two stags that rallied the allied forces, the Raven Queen Enebris sent word to her allies in the South, the Saraphs, asking for reinforcements.

When the time came for Cadhara to be executed, she was paraded through the crowd of Shadows that had gathered, alongside the shell of a doe that had once been her mother.  The Shadows tore at her coat and ripped pieces of her mane out to take as trophies as she was forced to walk forward to a stone altar that Enebris had ordered to be built to sacrifice her prizes upon.  It would be Cadhara's mother, Queen Haraedla, that was to be sacrificed first.  Before her very own eyes, Enebris slashed her mother's throat and threw her dying body aside.

Before Enebris could do the same to Cadhara, the rebel force of mixed Anomallites arrived.  

Together, the combined herds battled against the Shadows.  Unexpectedly, the Saraphs arrived - not to support the Shadows but to support the rebellion - and turned the tides of the war.  Cadhara, having been stabbed in the heart by Enebris but revived by a blessing from the goddess Vae'a, battled the enraged  Raven Queen.  While her powers were strengthened by the blessing of the goddess, Enebris had experience on her side and proved a formidable opponent.  Sultan Khonsu, the albino Saraph tiercel who had been supposedly blessed by the god, Roth, dove toward Enebris but, in doing so, put himself in harm's way.  Cadhara watched as she cursed him, heavily capping the fire magic that kept him alive.

After the Saraph sultan dropped to the ground, Enebris once more turned her attention to Cadhara.  But, before she could strike, her aunt - the betrayer, Princess Elebrea - took the blow for her.  Once more robbed of her target, the Raven Queen once more made as if to attack Cadhara but, before she could, was carried off by a massive, otherwordly raven.  Without their queen nor his son (who had, at some point in the battle, disappeared inexplicably), the Shadows were defeated.

Crown Princess Cadhara offered peace to the Shadows that had fought against her but, predictably, they fled.  The princess has since sent scouts to collect the Shadows that fled but honored her word to those that did surrender.  She has offered them a life as a commoner in her forests and, crowned Queen of Auster in the Spring of 1997, Cadhara has broken down barriers that have long separated many of the Anomalous herds.  No longer are the Linx forced to stay in their tunnels during the winter.  Instead a vast tunnel - said to be ready by the Winter of 1997 - will remain open year round so that the Linx can travel to the Sonder Vale (formerly the Battlegrounds) with ease, no longer trapped in their tunnels as their pack had been for so many years. 

The Austerian forests - formerly strictly guarded against outsiders - have been opened to all those that mean the forests no harm.

Year 1993 of the New Generation | 15 Years: 
Spring - The Time Has Come: Queen Haraedla decides it is time for Crown Princess Cadhara to become Queen of Auster.

Year 1994 of the New Generation | 16 Years: 
Spring - The Coronation | Part I, Part II: Before Cadhara's crowning ceremony is complete, the Shadow Army attacks! ; Take Flight: Cadhara, Kelso, Thorne, and Theodore flee the forest after the Shadows attack. ; May Vae'a Ever Guide You: Sir Kelso gives his life to make sure that the rest of them get away to safety.
Autumn/Winter: Loce manages to successfully forge an alliance with the Saraphs.  The Shadow Army is now known as the Shadow Alliance.
Spring-Winter: Be Our Guest: Cadhara, Thorne, and Theodore make their escape and find themselves in the Linx tunnels.  Alpha Alexein, surprisingly, welcomes them into his home.

Year 1995 of the New Generation | 17 Years: 
Spring - Cracks: Cadhara is unaware that Enebris and her son have learned the location of where she has been hiding all this time...
Winter - The Shadow Alliance attacks the Nombeko Plains!  However, they suffer a loss here and return to the forest to lick their wounds and prepare for their next move.

Year 1996 of the New Generation | 18 Years: 
Spring - The Shadow's Seige | Part I: After refusing to give up Crown Princess Cadhara, the siege upon the Linx begins! ; Secret Meeting/A Place and a Family to Belong: After receiving what she believes in a message from Vae'a, Cadhara meets Padme - a former Shadow Alliance member now blessed - who has freed some Austerian prisoners and helps them into the tunnels.
Summer - The Siege Continues | Part II, The Beginning of the End: The siege upon the Linx continues but comes to an abrupt end when Commander Locke slays Alpha Alexein.  Crown Princess Cadhara, to end the bloodshed, gives herself up.
Autumn - The Shadows' Return: Locke brings Cadhara back to Enebris, who states that she will be executed the following season. ; Drums of War: Kelso and Rhette, former Austerian guards, overhear this and rush off to gather together a rebellion against the Shadow Alliance.
Winter - Ritual & Sacrifice | Part I, Part II, :star: Part III: The battle between the Shadow Alliance and the mixed rebellion forces begins and ends, although once more much blood is shed.  Queen Haraedla, Princess Elebrea, Sir Kelso, and countless others are dead and Sultan Khonsu, cursed by Enebris before she was carted off by a massive raven, is close to it.  Crown Princess Cadhara, having been blessed by the goddess Vae'a, calls for peace.  Most of what is left of the Shadow Alliance flees into the hills, with Austerian guards in hot pursuit.

Year 1997 of the New Generation | 19 Years: 
Spring - Cadhara is officially crowned the Queen of Auster by her Uncle, Prince Enghard.  Sir Kelso is buried before the White Oak while Princess Elebrea and Queen Haraedla are buried side-by-side in their proper spaces in Vae'a's Glade.  Queen Cadhara announces that the Auster will no longer have its gates closed to outsiders and that the Battlegrounds will be renamed the Sonder Vale.  She announces that the bodies of those that died - both Shadow and Rebel alike - will be buried in a gravesite near the northwestern shore of Lake Vesta.  The gravesite will be known as the Hallowed Grounds.  She also commissioned a tunnel to be built into the Linx Mountain Range that connects their tunnels to the Vale, allowing the Linx to no longer be trapped in their tunnels during the winter.
