My dear readers.

I'm back this month to try the second time to show you 6 beautiful pictures, I found on DeviantArt.

This month, to celebrate my favourite holiday of the year:

HALLOWEEN

The number of introductions used is symbolic, of course.  

This time, due to the type of topic, I'm not going to sort the categories as orderly as last time.
Mainly you're going to find digital pictures in this one.

If you're looking for crafts or photography, the second part of the journal, which is going to follow on Oct. 30 or Oct. 31 will be more your taste.  

This time you are going to find:

I leave it up to everybody personal, to judge what they find scary.
Just know, I'm not going for horror or gore here. I've picked pictures, that I personally find beautiful and want to share with you.

⸎ Creatures ⸎

Three fellows that are beautiful – in some way.

The first one is called “Skelleton of Society” by Samize

It shows a reaper, I'm sure of that. Or... maybe more then one.
But I'm pretty sure the being we face here was ment to reap something!
I really think, it's a deep picture, if you think about the deeper meaning it might have, considering the title. Which is – apart from the good looks – the main reason, why it's one of my absolute favourites. Our society really is so dead (braindead, if you will). Or murderous.
Or how the reaper has to treat every soul the same way.
Isn't that also an aspect of our society? Everybody being a “number”?

As you see, this beautiful work of art makes me think a lot, which is another reason, why I wanted to show it to you.

The second picture is called “I'm lonely, too” and was created by CreepyChibi

It shows a whole different kind of death, more the kind of picture I have in mind, when I think of the reaper.
And just so adorably cute. I want to hug him and cuddle and kiss and... err.... I'm drifting off.  

The thing is... apart from looking really cute, I really depict the personified Death as a very emotional and lonely being.

I always try to summon my personal imago of Death, when I'm down and think about what he would probably tell me about life, the living and dying. Pretty philosophic, really.
My personal imagination of him also came to the conclusion that death would be very lonely, which is part of the reason, why I don't want to die.
That's why I love this picture so much and I really hope, you do, too.

The next picture was named “The Siren” by it's creator LennartVerhoeff

It shows a beautiful mermaid on a... oh wait, there is something in her face.
Oh no, wait, this IS her face.
She's still kinda hot, though.
Who dares to kiss this maiden? (And don't mind the skull, that's drifting by, it probably has nothing to do with what she had for lunch.)
Awesome painting, in my opinion.

Also, I think, her proportions are nice. Not such an Ariel for once, in lack of a swimming adequate for “Barbie”.

⸙ Landscapes ⸙

Here are 2 beautifully spooky landscapes I picked from my favourites to show to you.

The first one is named “Alone” by RadoJavor

The dusky atmosphere is creating a feeling of nearing doom. You basically just wait for the wind's first harsh breath to initiate a huge autumn storm or worse occurences.
It always makes me shudder in a dark-expectant way, if I look at this picture.
Nevertheless the details in the pic are absolutely lovely – and realistic.

The other one is called “We belong dead” by @AlizarinJen

Again a picture that is more cute then scary, but it also bears a really interesting message.
I suggest, you click on it and read the thoughts the artist had while making it, for yourselves, because I don't want to accidentally repeat them wrong.
Beside me having a certain love for graves and graveyards (there is nothing more romantic to take a walk at!) I think Lady Monsterbride has really lovely looks in it and her two cats are really beautifully drawn and painted.
My absolute respect for that. In my experience it's not very easy to depict realistic cat-features.

■ An Object ■

Beside the nice pictures above, I have something handcrafted in store for you anyhow.

It's the “Vampire slayer kit” made by ryoshi-un

Looking at all the terrible dangers, that were presented to you above and that will soon follow in the second, far more scarier part of my Halloween Journal, you may want to obtain one of those lovely, handcrafted kits, to protect yourself and your loved ones against the yearly free-roaming of Halloween.

I'm sure the crucifix, bible, wooden stake and various other holy and not-so-holy objects, mixtures and herbs will provide maximum safety in all kinds of awkward situations those foreign creatures may get you into.

- No, seriously. This looks absolutely amazing. I'd really love to have one of my own, to play with it, to be honest. You can really see, those things were chosen and built with care.
Again, amazingly realistic looks, as if it was indeed ment for use. - But who knows? Probably it is...
