“Maybe it's not the right moment?” Radiation said to Nuclear as they headed down the chemical faction corridors.
“If not now, when?” Nuclear asked and climbed over to her other shoulder. “Where’s the girl who just screamed to his face that she wasn't afraid of him?”

“I'm not! But maybe it's not such a good idea to try to reason with Chemical right after I insulted him?”

“Coward!” Nuclear exclaimed teasing in her ear. “Come on Radiation. What’s the worst that could happen?”

“I can think of a lot…”

“You just have to flatter him a bit. ‘Hiiii, Chemical. I noticed how big and strong looking you are…’" Nuclear almost sang in a silly voice. Radiation flicked her fingers at his nose.

“Don’t be ridiculous.” she urged. “Why did I have to bring up Cain like that?” she moaned desperately.

“To make him listen?”

Suddenly she spotted Chemicals big figure in the other side of the hall. She took a couple of sprinting steps to catch up with him.
“Chemical, could I have a word with you?” she asked when she got beside him. Chemical glanced down at her as he continued to walk.

“What do you want?” he asked suspicious.

“I'd like to speak with you.” she answered.

“About what?” she could easily hear in this voice that he was still being upset with her from earlier.

“Delmar and Reed.”

“What about them?”

“I need you to exchange Reed to someone else.” she explained. Chemical lifted an eyebrow.

“I told you no. I'm not going to change Delmar’s supervisor.” he answered seemingly uninterested by her request.

“Reed has a bad influence on Delmar.” she explained. “He gives Delmar bad ideas and he encourages him to do the wrong things.”

“I doubt it. Reed is one of my most loyal shifters.” Chemical answered without looking at her. Radiation could almost swear he had speeded up, she had to almost run to keep up with him.

“Chemical, I would like your advice as well.” she urged.” you knew how to handle Cain better than anyone else. You knew how to control him.”

“I didn't control him. Cain did whatever he pleased. He only did as I told him because he trusted me.” Chemical glanced down at her with his dark eyes. “You can't control a psychic, they always end up doing whatever they like in the end.”

“Cain used to tell me about how you had changed him for the better, he used to tell me he was a hopeless criminal before he got to know you. You managed to make him a better person.”

“Cain was young and lost when I first met him. I only gave him the love and affection he was looking for. Why don't you try it? It might work wonders on your psychic as well. But then again, Delmar’s a grown-up, it might be too late.” with this he tried to signal that the conversation was over but Radiation wouldn't give up so easily.

“He keeps doing things I've asked him not to. I've asked him to stay away from fighting, yet he trains down in the training halls. I've asked him to stay to the task at hand yet he runs away on his own agendas…”

“So he's started an obsession?” Chemical interrupted her with a malicious expression. “Congrats, you're not going to be able to talk him out of it.” Radiation could swear he was mocking her.

“Chemical, you got to help me!” she pleaded. “Please!”

“Changing his supervisor won't help you. Delmar won't quit before he got what he's looking for. As soon as that idea takes root there's no way of removing it.” Chemical explained arrogant. “You’ll just have to live with it.”

“But I think Reed is encouraging him! Delmar almost died because of it.”

“What is he obsessing over?”

“He’s trying to kill dark matter.” Radiation said. The mockingly expression in Chemicals face disappeared, he frowned and looked worried for a second before his expression turned completely blank.

“Then let him die.” he said completely emotionless and monotone. Yet again he tried to signal that the conversation was over.

“Chemical, you can't say you want him dead! I know that you're lying!” she exclaimed. Chemical stopped, Radiation was grateful she didn't have to run to keep up with him anymore.

“I don't want him here. Cain’s dead because of him.” Chemical answered angrily.

“Delmar didn't kill Cain!”

“No, but he killed plenty of other shifters and he's the reason to why Cain’s dead!” Chemical started walking again. Radiation ran after.

“I can't believe how selfish you are! He’s the only thing that's left of Cain!” Radiation cried angrily. “Delmar is more like him than you think. You can't blame him for everything that happened to Cain, he's only Cain’s son!”

“He’s a serial killer. I've got no sentimental value towards him just because he's the son of someone.” Chemical answered.

“He could have been your son as well!” this time it was Radiation who stopped. She glanced angrily at his back. “If you hadn't been so good damned stubborn would Delmar have been your child as well!” Chemical stopped. “Cain wanted nothing more than to have you as the other parent! He tried to convince you for centuries!” Chemical turned around, an expression of endless sorrow clung onto his face. Radiation hoped that she was finally starting to break him down.

“Why did you turn him down like that?” Radiation asked harshly.

“Politics!” Chemical snarled. “I couldn't give him what he wanted because of politics!” he turned around again and started to walk out of there. This time Radiation let him go. After ten steps Chemical stopped again.

“Radiation…” he turned his head. “There’s no way you can make him change his mind. Delmar won't stop until Dark Matter is dead. Either you're going to have to lock him up or help him. If you want him to survive I would suggest you to lock him up again.”

“I can't lock him up in that cell again! Then I'll lose all his trust.” Radiation objected.

“Then do as Electrical said, force him to do paperwork, don't let him out on the field. Lock him up in an office” Chemical shrugged.

“What about Reed?”

“I'll take care of Reed. He’ll get his punishment.”
