HANDLERS/COMPANIONS

Handlers may refer to one of two things:
◆ You, the player
◆ A character owned by you used as a "rider" for your dragons.

You the player must keep a handler tracker, which tracks your game play progression and mastery points. This is seperate from your original characters who interact with your dragons.
A character that is owned by you and used in images as a rider or dragon handler/tamer must fit a few criteria to count.

Dragon riders must be sentient and anthro, meaning they stand on two legs and are capable of the expression of emotion [but not necessarily speech]. They should have opposable thumbs and may stand at any height, however when drawn they should be visible with their dragon. Meaning you cannot have a 2 foot rider so as to hide them completely. Riders may be any age, demographic, etc. They may be from any world or universe. Alternatively you may have "shadow" riders, however they must have a face and resemble that of a human.
Examples of Good riders
  1. humans
  2. Anthro  creatures[ bipedal dogs, cats, etc]
  3. Shadowy or wispy riders
Examples of Bad Riders:
  1. Potato sack [ is clearly a bag of delicious potatoes. For eating, not dragon handling.]
  2. Centaurs [not bipedal]
If your handler cannot be easily seen or identified in detail in an image, it may not count for the bonus.
Riders are needed to complete taming and breeding rites, unless the wild option is used.

ITEMS

Certain items can be applied to dragons, however some items might be destroyed when applied. Some items cannot be stacked, for example having all kinds of armor on one dragon is not allowed, just one kind.

Items that Destroy on removal:
The import must be changed to its original image if these are removed.
  1. Dyes
  2. Nail Polish
  3. Small/Large Item kits
  4. Familiars (these can be safely transferred from one dragon to the next)
Items that Cannot be removed:
To override a touch up kit or do over kit, simply apply a new one.
A dragon can only have 2 skills applied [and only one can pass in a breeding, the one that has a chance to pass is decided by coin toss in every breeding] A dragon may only have one breath applied, to replace a breath or a skill, simply apply a new one. For skills, inform us which skill you want replaced if you have two already.
  1. touch up kits
  2. do over kits
  3. Trophies [events/etc]
  4. skills
  5. Breaths
Items that can be removed, and will not be destroyed:
  1. Armor

FAMILIARS

Familiars are in game creatures that can be applied to your dragon to give them specific boosts. Every dragon has One slot for a familiar when they are first created, as they level up they unlock a new slot, giving them four familiar slots total.

Familiars have a very special ability where you can name them in your import! If you apply an otter and wish to give it a name, simply tells us what name you want and we will fill it out in your items sections of your dragon's import! Names must follow our guidelines and be PG-13 and non offensive. You can always change or give your otter a name later on. Just ask us to update it in import info changes!

Familiars cannot be sold back to the game, but  unapplied familiars can be traded or sold amongst players. Familiars are often found in events and specific activities.

Familiars may be removed and swapped onto other dragons, or removed and destroyed. They may not be removed and sold.
Familiars should be removed before the transfer of a dragon to another player, else this player will be given the familiar too. The same goes for any items on the dragon. When transferring a dragon it is always best practice to submit a import change to have any information you don't want on them removed [such as the name to be changed, personality wipe, removal of items, etc].

Familiar bonuses cannot stack with other bonuses. For example, the Otter permanently increases your chance to bring back an extra item in fishing. This means you cannot use it and stack it with a cooler to gain the chance for up to two extra items.

does one just have to decide whether a particular dragon is domesticated and whether you want them to have a rider or is there an official way to do stuff like that?
