The kind of things I improvise while writing...
Aske, a.k.a the real persona behind Ren’s facade, a.k.a the nickname and the disguise he uses in his dealings with Saemmling (his Waise cell in Karm). Because they’re all telepaths, and constantly run the risk of being mindfucked by other telepaths (the Watchers), they have to be careful with what they share, mentally and physically. They always introduce and think of themselves with nicknames, hide their faces and hair, etc. It’s a simple level of protection, and far from infallible, but it’s what makes the difference between involuntarily thinking about your associates’ real identity in the presence of a Watcher, and having the time to kill yourself before said Watcher has the time to pluck it from your mind. Yes, they’re that desperate.
Considering his powers deal with fire, Aske can be viewed as relatively… careful. He used to be wilder, but got tamed (in a way) by Skygge, Saemmling’s founder and main leader, and in the past few years has been honing his mental manipulation skills. He can be very subtle when he wants to, though he’s always itching to launch a bit of fireworks.
The other Waisen in his cell only tolerate him, and most dislike or even hate him, because he’s just a catastrophe waiting to happen. Aske’s not only a little on the wild side, he’s proud and spiteful, so he’s not exactly easy friend material. His buffer/translation shield technique also makes him unstable—basically, he runs all his emotions, experiences and interactions through the ‘Reiner’ persona, translating them into a facade nobody will suspect of being a Waise; but always repressing himself like this is slowly taking its toll.

Technically not the best I can do, I kind of rushed that, and changed my mind in the middle, and… Well, I’m in the process of writing the story and it’s NaNoWriMo and I still have to work and study, soooooooo...
