"Hi! I'm Gigi50
First of all I want to say:
Since I started in photography about 9 yrs ago and joined DA 7 years ago, I have grown very much and I thank all the wonderful deviants I have met here and helped me learn so much, I appreciate
all of you and the time and patience you've had with me!"

"I enjoyed doing macro right from the beginning. I did not have a DSLR at first but discovered I enjoyed getting the smaller details of nature's treasures.
I always seem to spot little things when taking a walk in the forest and around my house and yard! One big love is making the frozen bubbles and getting frost details on my window, it's the deviants I met here and watched that got me excited for this challenge!"

"I think that what really helps is to actually have a macro lens. My most favorite was when I did own a Nikon camera and the 40mm micro lens really allowed me to get extremely close when it came to frost and bubbles, but now being a Canon girl and I depend on my overused 100mm macro and a new addition is my Canon MP-E 65mm. That last one, that I call my extreme close up and a challenge, must be used 100% with a tripod and a rail, which is something I did not even know existed. I have lots of learning and experimenting to do with it yet.
The 100mm macro is also good when you can get as close without scaring off little critters of course!"

"Focusing on the right part of the subject is crucial and not always easy! In most situations, manual focus is best and very good lighting is required to see details even better, so it allows you to play with your aperture size and have the amount of details that you are looking for in your end results. I myself do shoot most of the time on Aperture mode. You do have to have the time and patience when it comes to macro photography! I know a lot of people use extension tubes and that is good too, especially since they cost less then many lenses, it's a good way to start and find out how much
you enjoy it and if its worth investing in a good lens!"

Thank you gigi50!

gigi50 Is a big inspiration of mine and I'm so pleased to see this being posted. It's well done and the pieces chosen for this journal truly displays the skill and hard work Gigi put into their art.
