Lady Telyn:

Another year, another series of plays, shows and escapades. The theatre was booming and filled with just as many fawns as it was ladies these days. Now with Rut starting up once again Telyn was noticing a small dip in attendance. She knew for some of her ladies, it would be there first Rut so they were probably a bit distracted by that. For her? She was staying out of it for once. She and Greyson had enjoyed a bountiful first two years together and two fawns to show for it. Taurin was with his father that day while Telyn kept close her newest little bundle. She was quiet and keeping to herself which pleased Telyn who soon left the little darling with one of their fawn sitters.

She needed to take roll call, see who all was there and if anyone else planned to take a few weeks off for Rut or not. The change of season was a time for lots of celebrations after all and if she was going to be understaffed then she wanted to know upfront so she could plan.

So far it wasn’t looking too bad, the doe pleased that most of her troupe planned on abstaining from that year for one reason or another.

Lady Dove:

The pale Lady could hardly contain her excitement as she walked down the trail that led to the Ladies’ Theatre. She'd come here a few times, to watch the Ladies perform and chatter with Telyn some. Today, however was different. She'd given birth not long ago to her daughter, precious Lady Dervla. The filly was perfect in every way, in Dove’s eyes. Now that her youngster was here, Dove had decided to hold true to the goal and dream that she'd made for herself last year… She was going to join the Ladies’ Theatre.

Excitement thrummed through the spotted Lady’s veins now, her blue eyes falling upon the small group of does that stood near the earthy stage. It seemed that she'd made it just in time! It looked like they were about to take roll. “We're going to meet some new friends today, Dervla.” Dove hummed as she approached the other Ladies. The pale filly looked up at her, bright blue eyes filled with curiosity. She didn't understand what was being said, but she sensed her mother’s excitement.

Lady Telyn and Lady Alma:

“Alright, alright...everyone settle down!” Telyn called, looking over the chattering ladys who were gathered in the audience seating in front of the stage. Telyn smiled some, turning her head to the grullo at her side who stepped up to take roll. Alma was trying to take a more active roll in the theatre these days to keep her mind off  her troubles and Telyn was more than happy to help in that regard.

“When I call your name, simply call out that you are present or not! If you hear the name of someone who is not here but simply tardy, you may speak out for them as well.” She informed. She cleared her throat again, keeping her tone pleasant as she started to run through the names of does she had come to memorize who attended the theatre.

As Alma ran roll call, Telyn looked out, taking a headcount herself which was why she was easily able to spot two approaching figures. One she knew, one however...was very small and very new. She grinned, excusing herself as she slipped away to go ahead and greet the fine Dove whom she had heard talk of lately. There had been rumors she had finally had her first fawn and it appeared the rumors had been true!!!

Lady Dove:

Dove’s ears pricked forwards as she spotted a pale purpley form approaching her. Immediately, she recognized Telyn. She suspected that the other Lady would likely be thrilled to see her here, as she'd tried very hard to get her to join the Theatre last year. She was getting her wish now. “Good day, Telyn!” Dove called out to the older Lady as she approached. Excitement hummed through her veins and she draped her tail around Dervla, pulling the filly closer before she was tempted to get into any mischief.

She couldn't help but be a bit nervous though. What if Telyn retracted her offer? There were several Ladies in the Theatre already, a couple of them being new faces that had joined recently. What if there wasn't room for her here anymore? Hopefully she hadn't missed her chance! Dove swallowed her nerves, plastering a perfect smile onto her face.

Lady Telyn and Lady Alma:

“Hello to you as well Miss Dove.” Telyn smiled, lowering her head to her before grinning big at the little filly at her side. “And who is this beautiful little one!? I see you found a stag worthy of your time after all!” She smiled, throwing a wink back up Dove’s way. She lifted her head, not planning on bothering the little fawn too much since she was a stranger after all.

“I’m elated to see you’ve returned to us. Does this mean you’ve considered my offer from last year?” Dove asked, turning an excited cheek her way. There was always room for more ladies in her Theatre!

Lady Dove:

Dove laughed softly at Telyn's words, her cheeks and ears growing a bit rosy as blood rushed to them. “Lord Faulkner turned out to be the perfect stag to sire my firstborn.” She hummed. Of course, Telyn would already know that… It was common knowledge, so Dove wasn't sure why she felt the need to say it. “This is Lady Dervla.” She gave her daughter a gentle nudge. “Dervla, say hi to Lady Telyn.” Dervla looked up at the purply doe with a bit of attitude in her gaze. This was HER mama! Telyn wasn't going to steal her! Dove laughed softly as the filly remained quiet. “She's a bit… possessive.”

Telyn said she was elated to see Dove return, asking if it meant that she'd decided to join them. “Yes, I would love to join you.” The spotted doe hummed, suppressing her nervousness. That is, if you're still happy to have me. I know it's been a long time since you first extended your offer.”

Lady Telyn:

Oh what a fiery little thing!! Telyn loved it, giggling as she watched the little lady give her the stare down. “Oh I like her spirit! You have all the right in the world to horde your mother little dear. She is a wonderful fawn.” She hummed, giving her another smile before looking to Dove as she accepted her offer.

“Oh how wonderful!! I was hoping you would say yes. We would, of course, love to have you still.” She assured, tail swishing happily at the news. “You’ve come at a fine time as well, we’re taking roll call. I can also introduce you to my number 2.” She hummed, eyes flicking back up to Alma.

Lady Dove:

Dove smiled warmly, pleased that Telyn saw no harm in Dervla’s possessiveness. “It isn't a very Lady-like trait, but she's only a baby so I let her by with it...for now.” She laughed softly. “I'll work on it with her once she's a little older. I'm sure that I can get it under control.” She would be a good mother and teach her daughter to be proper… well, that was her intention at least.

“Thank you so much, Telyn!” She gasped in delight as she was told that she was welcome in the Theatre. “That would be wonderful; I'm always happy to meet new faces.” She swept her tail across Dervla’s legs gently, bringing the fawn closer to her out of habit as they prepared to head towards the cluster of Ladies near the stage.

Lady Telyn:

“Oh enjoy it while you can Dove. Soon she’ll be eager to run away from you.” Telyn teased gently, smiling more as their conversation grew so happy and light. “But of course, we’re always happy to have you.” She smiled, moving back some so she could see the crowd. She lowered her head again, smiling gently to Dervla. “There are plenty of other fawns here as well, you can play or just rest and watch them if you so wish.” She lifted her head back to Dove then. “Or she may remain with you, there is no rule here.” She assured, turning to lead them towards the group. Alma was starting to finish up roll call and was looking over towards the pair.

Lady Dove:

Dove laughed softly. “I’m not so sure about that.” she disagreed with amusement. “I don’t think I’ve ever known a fawn as clingy as Dervla… but perhaps she really will grow out of it.” she mused. Telyn stated that there were other fawns that she could play with, if she wanted. Dervla tilted her head curiously, stepping closer to Dove slightly. Her answer was pretty obvious. Dove chuckled softly. “I’d say she’ll be sticking to my side.” she mused, happy to hear that there weren’t any rules here about where the fawns must be. Dove followed the purply Lady now, excitement thrumming in her hooves as they approached the doe that was finishing roll call. “Greetings.” Dove dipped her head with respect as the other Lady met her gaze.

Lady Telyn and Lady Alma:

“Alma my dear...this is Lady Dove. She will be joining us.” Telyn introduced, the silverly grullo dipping her head and offering a smile. “Welcome to our little hide away.” Her brown eyes flickered down, spotting the hiding little fawn as she grinned more. “Oh? And a little double I see too?” “Aye, yes...young Lady Dervla.” Telyn nodded as Alma offered her another dip of her head.

“It’s wonderful to meet you both. My own daughters attend the theatre as well.” Alma assured Dove. Dervla wouldn’t be out of place at all if she chose to remain at her mother's side.

Lady Dove:

Ah yes, Lady Alma! She’d been struggling to remember the doe’s name, but it rang a bell now. “Thank you.” Dove said, dipping her head. She tried her best not to sound like an overexcited fawn. Dervla watched the ladies in a bit of a skeptical manner, leaned against her mother’s legs almost possessively. “I’m happy to be here. I’ve been debating joining for quite some time now, but…” she glanced at Dervla pointedly. “I wanted to wait until some other things in my life settled out first.”

Lady Telyn and Lady Alma:

The two does smiled as Dove explained her motives. “It’s an honorable cause to wait for as well.” Telyn assured as Alma smiled some more.

“Is she your first Dove?” How she spoke and glowed over the filly made her think she had to be. She just seemed to proud!

“You’re lucky Dove, Alma here had twins her first go ‘round.” Telyn teased as the silvery Grullo snorted.

“Talk about being scared...it’s one thing going into pregnancy worrying about one fawn but to find out there will be two? I pray you never have to endure it.” Alma sighed as she looked to her. She...would have left her darlings motherless had it not been for the Princess.

Lady Dove:

Dove puffed out her chest with pride as Alma asked if Dervla was her first. “She is, and I couldn't have asked for better.” She practically purred, stroking her daughter affectionately with her long tail. Her eyes widened with alarm when she heard of Alma’s first pregnancy. “Bless your heart!” She exclaimed. “I thought that I was dying just from carrying and birthing one… I can only imagine two!” She shuddered visibly at the thought. “Are both healthy?” She inquired, tilting her head to the side. She racked her brain, trying to recall names, but came up blank.

Lady Telyn and Lady Alma:

Alma and Telyn both gave a little laugh at her exclaim, Alma smiling and nodding her head as she thought back to it. “Oh it was an event...certainly. I wouldn’t want to do it again.” She teased before smiling more. “They were both born healthy yes.” She hummed, choosing her words carefully since her poor boy...those damn fawntakers.

“My little girl Anira frequents the theatre as well. If you see a red head, it’s probably her.” She giggled as Telyn smiled. “She’s getting a bit of sass to her….you best watch her Alma.” She cautioned as Alma rolled her eyes.

Lady Dove:

“Ahhh, well that's good.” Dove smiled warmly when the other doe stated that her children were healthy. She chuckled softly at mentions of the fiery Anira as well. “I'll be keeping my eyes peeled as well for her.” She mused, tail swishing with humor as she looked to the stage now, excitement swelling within her.

Soon, they would begin.
